Playwrights Horizons' 'WATSON INTELLIGENCE' Begins Previews Tomorrow

Previews begin this Friday, November 15 at 8PM for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) World Premiere production of THE (curious case of the) WATSON INTELLIGENCE, a new play by Madeleine George (The Zero Hour).

Ruben Santiago-Hudson & Marlo Hunter Take Home Callaway Awards

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) proudly reveals this season's Joe A. Callaway Award winners for Direction and Choreography from more than 200 eligible productions in the 2012 - 2013 New York City theatre season. This year's awards will be presented to Ruben Santiago-Hudson for his direction of The Piano Lesson produced by Signature Theatre and Marlo Hunter for her choreography of Unlock'd produced by Prospect Theater Company. The winners join previous Joe A. Callaway Award Winners including Susan Stroman (1991), Harold Prince (1993), Julie Taymor (1996), Jack O'Brien (2001), Bartlett Sher (2002), Daniel Sullivan (2004), John Tiffany (2012) and Steven Hoggett (2012).

Playwrights Horizons Now Accepting Entries for LIVEforFIVE Online Lottery

Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Wednesday, October 9 at 12 Noon, for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to the World Premiere of THE PATRON SAINT OF SEA MONSTERS, a new play by Blackburn Prize winner Marlane Meyer (The Chemistry of Change and Moe's Lucky Seven for PH; Etta Jenks), directed by two-time Obie Award winner Lisa Peterson (The Chemistry of Change for PH; An Iliad, Slavs!).

Second Stage Uptown Extends MURDER FOR TWO Through 8/25

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) extends its New York premiere musical comedy Murder For Two, with book and music by Joe Kinosian, book and lyrics by Kellen Blair and directed by Scott Schwartz yet another week through August 25. Murder for Twofeatures Jeff Blumenkrantz (How to Succeed...) and Brett Ryback (The History Boys at Ahmanson). Previews began on July 10 and opening night was Thursday, July 25.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) extends the world premiere of The Tutors, written by Erica Lipez and directed byThomas Kail through June 23rd. The Tutors opened on Wednesday, June 5 and is presented at Second Stage Theatre's uptown home, the McGinn/Cazale Theatre on Broadway at 76th Street. Reed Birney, Enid Graham and More Set for Page 73's SONG OF EXTINCTION Reading, 5/15

Page 73 Productions - the Off-Broadway company dedicated to producing and developing works by early-career playwrights - will present a reading of their 2013 Interstate 73 member E.M. Lewis' play SONG OF EXTINCTION on Wednesday, May 15 at 4pm at Roundabout Theater Company's rehearsal studios (115 West 45th Street 12th Floor). Calloway Award winner Carolyn Cantor (THE GREAT GOD PAN, AFTER THE REVOLUTION) will direct.

The Tutors will feature Louis Ozawa Changchien ( Second Stage's Warrior Class), Matt Dellapina (The Dream Of The Burning Boy), Aubrey Dollar ('Guiding Light'), Keith Nobbs (Lombardi) and Chris Perfetti (Picnic). Previews begin on May 22nd and opening night is Wednesday, June 5th.

Playwrights Horizons Adds a Week to THE GREAT GOD PAN

Due to popular demand, Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced a second extension of its critically-acclaimed World Premiere of THE GREAT GOD PAN, a new play by the heralded Obie Award-winning playwright Amy Herzog (After the Revolution at PH, 4000 Miles). Originally set to play a limited engagement through Sunday, December 30, the production originally extended to Sunday, January 6 and now extends to Sunday, January 13 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). This additional week represents the final extension possible for the production and includes a special Wednesday matinee on January 9 at 2:30 PM.
