Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced initial details for its 2014 special online Auction. Bidding for the auction, which will feature an eclectic array of items and unique opportunities, begins today, Friday, April 11 at 10AM at www.biddingforgood/playwrightshorizons. TOO MUCH SUN - the newest play by Nicky Silver - will be given its world-premiere production this spring at the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) starring the Tony Award-winning actress Linda Lavin, joined by the newly-announced cast: Ken Barnett, Richard Bekins, Matt Dellapina, Matt Dickson and Jennifer Westfeldt, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, The Vineyard's Artistic Director, and Sarah Stern, Co-Artistic Director. Mark Brokaw directs the production, scheduled to begin previews May 1 prior to an official opening night on May 18.

Playwrights Horizons has announced additional casting for its current 2013/2014 Season. The announcement includes complete casting for the New York premiere of FLY BY NIGHT: A NEW MUSICAL, conceived by Kim Rosenstock (Tigers Be Still), written by Will Connolly (performer, Once), Michael Mitnick (Sex Lives of Our Parents, the upcoming film The Giver) and Ms. Rosenstock, and directed by Carolyn Cantor (The Great God Pan and After the Revolution at PH, Pumpgirl, Orange Flower Water). STAGE KISS, by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl, will also welcome Ken Marks to the cast for the final two weeks of its run.

Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Wednesday, March 19, for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to the World Premiere of YOUR MOTHER'S COPY OF THE KAMA SUTRA, a new play by Kirk Lynn and directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Detroit, Maple and Vine at PH; Belleville; This Wide Night; The Thugs).

Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) presents the new musical ARLINGTON by Victor Lodato and Polly Pen, directed by Carolyn Cantor (THE GREAT GOD PAN, AFTER THE REVOLUTION). ARLINGTON stars Alexandra Silber(MASTER CLASS on Broadway with Tyne Daly, THE WOMAN IN WHITE) as Sara Jane, a young wife who valiantly tries to remain hopeful while her husband is away at war, despite a growing concern that something is not quite right. This new music-theatre piece is a stirring and powerful work that explores complex questions about history, identity and power as it takes us deeper into the storm stirring beneath Sara Jan's sunny exterior.

The readings kick off Monday, March 24 and will be held on consecutive Mondays through April 7. The readings will take place at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). The evening will be co-hosted by two of the company's alumni actors: two-time Tony Award winner David Hyde Pierce (at PH in Richard Greenberg's The Maderati in 1987) and two-time Tony Award nominee, two-time Obie Award winner and 2012 Special Drama Desk Award winner Mary Testa (at PH in William Finn's In Trousers in 1979, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's Lucky Stiff in 1988, Tom Donaghy's From Above in 1998/Obie Award and Kathleen Tolan's The Wax in 2000).
