Carnegie Hall today unveiled its 2016-2017 season consisting of more than 170 concerts as well as wide-ranging education and community programs created by Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute. The upcoming season includes performances by many of the world's greatest artists, including Tony winner Kelli O'Hara making her solo headlining debut at the renowned venue on Oct. 29, as well as ensembles representing classical, pop, jazz, and world music, with events presented on Carnegie Hall's three stages, in the Hall's Resnick Education Wing, and throughout New York City.

In its tenth anniversary season, THE CROSSING - the extraordinary chamber choir from Philadelphia, dedicated to new music and conducted by Donald Nally - comes to New York tonight, January 23, 2016 to perform the NY premiere of THE FIFTH CENTURY, a large-scale work for the rare combination of choir and saxophone quartet by the iconic avant-garde English composer GAVIN BRYARS. The event, which will also feature the great sax quartet PRISM and will have Bryars in the audience, takes place at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Chapel at Trinity Church, Wall Street.

World Premiere of Daniel Wohl's HOLOGRAPHIC to Play Baryshnikov Arts Center

The Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) will present the world premiere live performances of Daniel Wohl's Holographic on Thursday and Friday, January 21 and 22, 2016 at 8pm at BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater. At BAC, Holographic will be performed by Mantra Percussion and the Holographic String Quartet with Daniel Wohl on electronics. Synchronized audio-visuals by Los Angeles-based visual artist Daniel Schwarz will blend with Wohl's rich electroacoustic creations to bring this spellbinding multimedia work to life. A groundbreaking new model, Holographic is both an album and series of live performances co-commissioned by BAC; Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music in St. Paul, MN; MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA; and the Indianapolis Museum of Art. The album will be released on New Amsterdam Records on January 29, 2016.

CSO to Celebrate Great Russian Composers in January

The CSO's Russian Winter Festival, to be held January 8 and 9 at the Ohio Theatre, features two different Russian-themed programs over the two-day event, offering a broad taste of the finest works of the great Russian composers. Felt, founder and President of San Francisco Performances--one of the country's most respected performing arts presenting organizations--has announced that she will retire from the nonprofit she created and has led for 36 years in the fall of 2016. Ms. Felt, who is 76, makes this announcement at a time when San Francisco Performances is at a particularly strong place artistically, administratively and financially and with artists and programming details already in place for two upcoming seasons, according to Patrick McCabe, Chair of the Board of Trustees. Princeton Symphony Orchestra Extends Music Director Rossen Milanov's Contract Through 2022

Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) announced the extension of Rossen Milanov's contract as Music Director for another five years. Mr. Milanov signed the agreement over the weekend, and PSO Executive Director Marc Uys shared the news with patrons at the outset of the orchestra's concert Sunday afternoon at Richardson Auditorium.

Milanov Conducts Free HAPPY HOUR CONCERT Today

Now in its third year, Happy Hour concerts offer free, informal, after-work concerts performed by the Columbus Symphony, preceded by complimentary appetizers, a DJ in the theatre lobby, and a cash bar. Conducted by the CSO's new Music Director Rossen Milanov, the first Happy Hour concert of the 2015-16 season will be at the Ohio Theatre today, October 29, and will be in partnership with Earshot, The National Orchestral Composition Discovery Network, to present a live Composers' Competition. The CSO will perform four new music compositions from four emerging composers, and ask the audience to vote for their favorite. A professional jury will select an official winner of the competition.
