Houdyshell & Kane Join LOVE, LOSS in March; O'Donnell Withdraws

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Jayne Houdyshell and Carol Kane will join the March cast of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's hit Off Broadway show, Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which has been playing to sold-out houses at the Westside Theatre. They join the previously announced Didi Conn, Fran Drescher and Natasha Lyonne. Rosie O'Donnell, who performed as part of the opening cast and was to return to the show in March, had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts and family obligations.

The off-Broadway hit, Love, Loss and What I Wore welcomed a new cast on February 4, consisting of funny-women Janeane Garofalo, Joanna Gleason, Carol Kane, June Diane Raphael and Caroline Rhea. The current cast will play through February 28.

The off-Broadway hit, Love, Loss and What I Wore will welcome a new cast on February 3, including funny-women Janeane Garofalo, Carol Kane, June Diane Raphael and Caroline Rhea, The New York Times reports. Beginning March 3, they will be followed by newcomers Fran Drescher and Didi Conn. As previously reported, Love, Loss and What I Wore has recouped its capitalization costs in only 11 weeks (short by any standards) and is now being considered for both sit-down engagements as well as a national tour for 2011.

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation hosted its 19th annual A Magical Evening gala on Monday, November 9, 2009 at The Marriott Marquis in New York City. This year's gala recognized the results of a recently published study sponsored by the Reeve Foundation, which shows that 5.6 million Americans are living with paralysis, 1.275 million of those as a result of spinal cord injury.

The Trevor Project, the leading national organization focused on crisis and suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, raised approximately $210,000 at its ninth annual East Coast fundraising gala, Trevor New York, last Monday, June 29. Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black was honored with the Trevor Hero Award and CNN was named as the Trevor Commitment Award recipient, both for serving as inspirations to LGBTQ youth. Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel presented to Black and Jane Velez-Mitchell, host of HLN's (sister network of CNN) 'Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell,' accepted the award from broadcaster Keith Boykin, on behalf of CNN.
