The Carol Tambor Theatrical Foundation is proud to announce the winner of this year's Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award, the highest honor at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the winning selections of the 2009 TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series. In a series that is unique because it develops new producers as well as new plays, three works were chosen from submissions by emerging or established producers, as well as from writers who hoped to be matched with a producer. Fulfilling TRU's mission of nurturing the producer-writer relationship, each of the plays this year is either produced by, or with the assistance of, a member of the TRU Producer Mentorship program.

The Flea Theater has announced a 2nd extension its wildly popular and critically acclaimed World Premiere production of Itamar Moses' LOVE/STORIES (OR BUT YOU WILL GET USED TO IT. Moses is the author of The Four of Us, Bach at Leipzig, Back Back Back and Celebrity Row, a playwright whose sensibility has proven to be a perfect match for The Bats, The Flea's resident company of emerging artists. The production, which began performances on January 29, has been extended for an additional 4 weeks. The new closing date is now April 25.

Commissioned by The Flea in 2006, the piece marks Swados return to The Flea, where she previously wrote, composed and directed the long-running hit JABU. Performances of KASPAR HAUSER begin previews on February 13th, with opening night set for February 28th.

The Flea Theater will present the World Premiere of A LIGHT LUNCH by A.R. Gurney, beginning previews December 12. The production, directed by Flea Artistic Director Jim Simpson, marks the fifth collaboration between Gurney and The Flea. A LIGHT LUNCH was written expressly for The Bats, The Flea's resident company of emerging actors. Opening night is slated for Friday, December 19.
