Ray Davies CD Signing At SUNNY AFTERNOON On Dec 18

Ray Davies of The Kinks will be signing CD copies of the official cast recording album of Sunny Afternoon, Lola vs the Powerman new deluxe edition and the new Kinks five-CD box set 'The Anthology 1964-1971', at the Harold Pinter Theatre, London, from 4.00pm - 5.15pm on 11 December 2014.

Sunny Afternoon, the critically acclaimed new musical, which tells the story of the early life of Ray Davies and the rise to stardom of The Kinks, has released seven preview tracks from the official cast recording album, released later this month. All 29 tracks on the album are performed entirely by members of the company, with John Dagleish as Ray Davies, George Maguire as Dave Davies, Ned Derrington as Pete Quaife and Adam Sopp as Mick Avory.

Following a sold-out run at Hampstead Theatre, this world premiere production, with music and lyrics by Ray Davies, new book by Joe Penhall, direction by Edward Hall, design by Miriam Buether and choreography by Adam Cooper, will begin previews on 4 October 2014. Musical Director is Elliott Ware, lighting is by Rick Fisher and sound by Matt McKenzie.

The Daily Mail reports that Hampstead Theatre's SUNNY AFTERNOON might soon be transferring to the West End -- or even the big screen. Actor/director Dexter Fletcher allegedly appeared at the show with film producers Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich to scout the production. Samantha Womack is now confirmed to be playing Nellie Forbush for additional cities in 2012 on the current nationwide tour of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical SOUTH PACIFIC. Originally, she was going to finish in Oxford, but it is now confirmed that she will continue in the tour in Southampton, Birmingham and Liverpool.
