Palo Alto Players, the Peninsula's first theatre company, announces its 88th season - featuring four Peninsula premieres and a re-imagined classic. The 2018-19 line-up, beginning September 2018, was unveiled Sunday, January 28 by Artistic Director Patrick Klein at the company's annual Season Announcement Party and includes Disney's TARZAN®, ALL THE WAY, SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE, FLOWER DRUM SONG, and ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS. The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey announces its 56th season lineup after the great success of its 2017 season that featured the Northeast debut of the hit Shakespeare in Love, as well as a number of productions that were praised by The Star-Ledger and NJ Arts in their 'Top Ten' listings. The Theatre's 2018 slogan is 'Comic Relief' and the company will present six shows on its Main Stage at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre and one summer production on the Outdoor Stage. 'One Man, Two Guvnors' is based on Carlo Goldoni's 'Servant of Two masters,' a 1746 commedia dell'arte piece featuring the Truffaldino harlequin as a prospecting errand boy who works for two different men, constantly confusing what tasks he's supposed to be performing for which boss. As the title suggests, 'Guvnors' mirrors this plot, though the action takes place in 1960s Brighton. Francis (Michael Bernard) is a portly loafer who stumbles into the employ of Rosco Crabbe (who is actually Rosco's dizygotic twin, Rachel (Shannon Saleh), in drag). Francis, who suffers from a constant, voracious appetite (and an equally anorexic bank account), takes another gig on the sly: working for Stanley Stubbers (Dillon Yuhasz), Rachel's boyfriend and Rosco's killer.
