An Octoroon is directed by Goodman Theatre Resident Director Chuck Smith and runs July 21 - August 20, 2017 in the Richard Christiansen Theater at Victory Gardens Theater as part of Definition's tenure in the Victory Gardens Resident Theater Program.

The audience sits on either side of a shared backyard flanked by two houses. At first glance structurally identical, closer examination revels distinct differences. One house has a clean patio set, new curtains, and a well-tended window box of flowers. The other shows obvious signs of neglect: peeling paint, dead grass, a rusty charcoal grill tucked away in a corner.
The Colorado Theatre Guild's 9th Annual Henry Awards will take place Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada, Colorado. Theatreworks sure knows how to set a scene. Last season, Everyman on a Bus had audiences boarding a charter for a literal and allegorical journey around the Colorado Springs downtown area. Now comes Venus in Fur, staged in an abandoned building on Tejon Street with blacked-out windows and a 'For Lease' sign over the door. Just walking into the space feels like taking part in clandestine activity.
