Broadway at the Cabaret - Top 5 Cabaret Picks for September 14-20, Featuring Will Swenson, Whitney Bashor, and More!

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Below, BroadwayWorld brings you some cabaret highlights for this week as picked by our theatre editors, including: Robert Creighton at 54 Below; Whitney Bashor at 54 Below; Will Swenson at 54 Below; Cry-Baby Reunion Concert; and Broadway Back to School 2015.

Thespian Festival 2015 to Present THE MUSIC OF MENKEN

Thespian Festival 2015 presents the opening show The Music of Menken: Audrey, Ariel, Aladdin…and Alan! An Evening with Alan Menken, a tribute to one of the most celebrated composers of stage and screen. The Music of Menken will take place Monday, June 22, at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Carla Stickler to Make Solo Debut at the Metropolitan Room

OPTION UP is a night of music and stories about taking risks and facing challenges while trying to pave your way in the world... with a few high notes thrown in. Monday, June 1st at 9:30pm, Broadway's Carla Stickler will take to the stage in a new way, without all the smoke and mirrors of WICKED to back her up for her solo debut.

Jackie Burns (If/Then, Hair, Wicked), Ariana DeBose (Hamilton, Pippin, Motown the Musical), Christine Dwyer (Wicked), Meghann Fahy (Next to Normal), Lauren Ashley Zakrin (Rock of Ages), Corey Mach (Godspell, Wicked National Tour, RENT National Tour), Ryan Vasquez (Wicked), Mike Schwitter (Pippin) and Taylor Noble (A Lasting Impression, Chautaugua!) round out the lineup for previously announced benefit concert for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital tonight, April 6th at Highline Ballroom.

Tony nominee Bryce Pinkham (The Heidi Chronicles, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder), Margot Bingham (Boardwalk Empire, RENT), Lilli Cooper (Wicked, Spring Awakening), Carla Stickler (Wicked), and Brent Michael DiRoma (Jersey Boys National Tour) join the lineup for a night of fun benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital April 6th at Highline Ballroom.

Full Cast Set for BOYS VS. GIRLS Concert at (le) poisson rouge, 3/23

Boys Vs. Girls, created by Drew Overcash and produced by Broadway veterans Michael Balderrama, Richard H. Blake, and Sean Frank Sullivan of Last Call Theatricals, LLC has announced final casting for its upcoming concert presentation at (le) poisson rouge on March 23rd.

WICKED's Carla Stickler, Jennifer DiNoia & Jason Yarcho Set for Broadway Fantasy Camp, 10/18

WICKED pros appear at Broadway Fantasy Camp's All Day Broadway: WICKED. Carla Stickler, currently appearing as 'Elphaba Understudy' in WICKED at The Gershwin Theatre, will meet with Broadway Fantasy Camp participants on Saturday, October 18, 2014 in Manhattan. Joining Stickler is Jennifer DiNoia, who is rejoining the Broadway company as 'Elphaba Standby.' The Musical Director is Jason Yarcho, previous Conductor for the first National Tour of WICKED.

Carla Stickler, Billy Harrington Tighe, Adam Kaplan & More Will Star in Industry Preview of Drew Overcash's New Musical BOYS VS GIRLS, 3/25

Last Call Theatricals will present a special 75-minute Industry-Only Preview of a new musical, BOYS VS GIRLS, written by Drew Overcash, directed & choreographed by Josh Rhodes (Cinderella) on Tuesday March 25th at 12:30pm and 3:30pm at Pearl Studios (500 Eighth Avenue). The cast will feature Carla Stickler (Wicked, Mamma Mia), Brent Diroma (Jersey Boys, Avenue Q), Billy Harrington Tighe (Pippin, Wicked, La Cage Aux Folles), Adam Kaplan (Newsies) and Merissa Czyz (Hair). William Demaniow will serve as Musical Director.

Stars and casts from the current Broadway line-up have been busy in the studio, recording for the 2013 Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 15. Singing traditional and original holiday songs, this annual holiday music CD benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), one of the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations.
