LEWIS & TOLKIEN: OF WARDROBES AND RINGS to Come to The Sheen Center

Lewis & Tolkien: Of Wardrobes and Rings, written by and featuring David Payne and directed by Marc Whitmore,will make its New York debut at the Black Box Theater at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture. Performances began on May 23 with opening night scheduled for May 31, the engagement runs throughJune 14.

Montalvo Arts Center's 18/19 Carriage House Series Launches This Fall

Art lovers of all kinds gathered this evening at Montalvo Arts Center's historic Villa to hear the Silicon Valley venue announce its 2018-2019 Carriage House Theatre Concert Series launching in October. The offerings span from music to theatre to comedy and more; among the exciting headliners announced were Grammy Awards nominees and winners performing jazz, bluegrass, pop, rock, classical, new age, folk, and Hawaiian music, as well as top comedy productions, theatre events and others. Where can friendship take us? The enduring worlds created by J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis changed the face of fantasy forever. Frodo, Aslan, the Pevensie children, and dozens more iconic characters sprang from two fertile imaginations fed by a frienship that spanned decades. The tale of how Narnia and Middle Earth came to be - and how close both came to disappearing - is chronicled in this new play by Pacific Theatre's Artistic Director Ron Reed.

Shaw Festival's 2018 Season Kicks Off With The Enchantment And Magic Of THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW

All good epic adventures begin somewhere. A new adaptation of C.S. Lewis's The Magician's Nephew by Michael O'Brien makes its world premiere and opens the Shaw Festival's 2018 season. Under the direction of Artistic Director Tim Carroll, the creative team and cast bring the story of Narnia's origins and its mythical multiverse to the Festival Theatre stage.
