With the Labor Day weekend comes the traditional end of summer and the beginning of many fall programs and activities: football, pumpkin patches, prepration for harvest ... and here on the Central Coast, many a theatre organization is preparing in earnest for their Fall Theatre seasons - or are already off and running!

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd and Richard M. Parison Jr., announced today that the acclaimed world premiere production of Mark St. Germain's new play, Freud's Last Session, will now perform through Sunday, September 6 at BSC's Stage 2 theatre ( 36 Linden Street , Pittsfield ). Starring Mark H. Dold and Martin Rayner, under the direction of Tyler Marchant, Freud's Last Session played to sold out performances during its first heralded run from June 11 through July 3.

THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, the entertaining hit theatre production is being presented by Fellowship for the Performing Arts at The Lesher Center for the Arts, 1601 Civic Drive, Walnut Creek, CA, on October 2nd and 3rd. The play has enjoyed sold-out runs in Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. and now makes its way to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Opening on the Mainstage will be Rodgers and Hammerstein?s musical masterpiece Carousel from June 17 through July 11. BSC will present its first thriller, the Tony Award-winning play Sleuth by Anthony Shaffer, from July 16 through August 1. Tennessee Williams? landmark play A Streetcar Named Desire will conclude the Mainstage summer season from August 6 through 29. The Mainstage fall show will be announced at a later date. On Stage 2, receiving its world premiere is Mark St. Germain?s Freud?s Last Session from June 10 through 28. Glen Berger?s hit Off-Broadway play Underneath the Lintel will play on Stage 2 from July 8 though 26.

Monroe, Phoenix, AZ on October 30th and November 1st; Brown Theatre, 315 W. Broadway, Louisville, KY on Friday, November 6th; Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Drive, Coral Springs, FL on November 14th and 15th; Tivoli Auditorium, 399 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, TN on November 21st and 22nd; and Lansburgh Theatre, 610 F Street NW, Washington, D.C. on December 16th through January 3rd. The riveting play has previously enjoyed sold-out runs and rave reviews in Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C.
