Intriguing Drama OPHELIA to Screen at 2016 LA Shorts Fest

OPHELIA, the official selection at the 2016 Revelation Perth International Film Festival, has been selected as Best of Fest at this year's LA Shorts Fest and will screen as part of the official selection at the prestigious Oscar qualifying festival starting September 1.

Fresh off her 2016 MAC Award for best original song after a successful revival of Portraits (1993) for Stephen Hanks' New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits series, Meg Flather paid tribute in Carly & Me to the 'artist who gave [her] her voice.' With her longtime musical director Paul Greenwood on piano and the versatile John Mettam on guitar and drums both singing backup, Flather performed hits and lesser-known songs alike from Carly Simon's oeuvre, along with a handful of original songs influenced by her musical heroine.

Amy Hoerler to Appear in DOG YEARS with Burt Reynolds

According to actor Amy Hoerler, being chosen to play a nurse in the new Burt Reynolds' movie, Dog Years, was "… the biggest thing I've ever done in my career." Dog Years, written and directed by Adam Rifkin, is the story of an aging former movie star who is forced to face the reality that his glory days are behind him. Rifkin wrote the script especially for Reynolds and described the story by saying, "On the surface, Dog Years is a tale of faded fame, but at its core, it's a universal story about growing old." In the movie, Reynolds plays aging movie actor, Vic Edwards, who is invited to a Nashville film festival to accept a lifetime achievement award but event do not turn out as expected.

Never one to rest on his laurels, Florida's favorite son, Burt Reynolds, spent the month of June in Knoxville, Tennessee, filming his latest movie. Dog Years, written and directed by Adam Rifkin, is the story of an aging former movie star who is forced to face the reality that his glory days are behind him.
