Burn the Floor, the international touring ballroom dance show that originated in London, will return this summer for a limited West End season at the Shaftesbury Theatre, beginning performances July 21 (prior to an official opening July 26) for a run through Sept. 4. The show recently played Broadway's Longacre Theater for a successful extended run in 2009-2010.

Brian Fortuna and Ali Bastian of the UK's Strictly Come Dancing will be featured in the West End production of the show, which will run from July 21st through September 4th.

Act II Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Bud Martin announced that he will remount Act II's popular musical, Respect: A Musical Journey of Women, in 2010 at Society Hill Playhouse. Martin, who directs the Act II Playhouse production, made the decision to produce Respect downtown for 12 weeks, Jan. 27 through April 18.

Dancing with the Stars' champion Derek Hough made his Broadway debut in 'Burn the Floor' for the shows' last performances on January 8-10, at the Longacre Theatre. Hough partnered with Kym Johnson. Hough replaces Maksim Chmerkovskiy who danced his final performance on January 7.

The producers of BURN THE FLOOR, announced today that that the show will extend through January 3, 2010. The Latin and ballroom spectacular had originally announced a limited 12-week run. The first new show of the Broadway season, BURN THE FLOOR broke the box office record at the Longacre Theatre two weeks running. Anya Garnis and Pasha Kovalev of Fox's 'So You Think You Can Dance' joined the company on August 18.
