Tom Paxton Releases REDEMPTION ROAD Today

And the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner is far from ready to call it quits, though he is planning to leave the traveling life behind. But first, he'll celebrate today's March 10, 2015 release of his 62nd (or so) album, Redemption Road; launch a two-month tour with Janis Ian on March 4; and head to his hometown of Bristow, Okla., for his March 14 induction into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. He'll also run across the pond in May for several U.K. dates, and likely keep stage-hopping through 2015.

FGO Welcomes Award-Winning Conductor Anthony Barrese for THE PEARL FISHERS, Beginning Today

?Anthony Barrese, award-winning conductor and composer, arrived in Miami yesterday to begin conducting rehearsals for Florida Grand Opera's (FGO) upcoming production of Georges Bizet's The Pearl Fishers (Les pecheurs de perles). Barrese makes his company debut conducting this French masterpiece not even two weeks after the close of FGO's well-received production of Mozart's comic opera Cosi fan tutte. The Pearl Fishers will open today, February 28, at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.

Florida Grand Opera Receives Anonymous Donation Saving 2015-16 Season

Despite falling short of its fundraising goal by approxmiately $15,000, Florida Grand Opera (FGO) has announced that, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the organization will be able to bring its 2015-16 Season performances to the Broward Center of the Performing Arts next year.

BEAUTIFUL, KINKY BOOTS & More Set for Broadway in Fort Lauderdale's 2015-16 Season

Continuing its reputation as one of the nation's most successful theatrical houses, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts announces that the six-time Tony Award-Winner "Kinky Boots" along with the two-time Tony Award-winner "Beautiful - The Carole King Musical" will be among the six musical Broadway hits of the 2015-16 subscription series. The series is presented by Bank of America in partnership with Broadway Across America and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in association with Florida Theatrical Association.

In January Funding Arts Broward members joined three well-known artists for a celebratory New Year's luncheon. In the dramatic exhibition event space at NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, the photographs of three groundbreaking painters, Francis Picabia, Julian Schnabel & J.F. Willumsen, connected in the Museum's latest visual art show Cafe Dolly, silently hosted the room full of FAB! members. Throughout the lunch, a number of speakers highlighted the phenomenal success of a Funding Arts Broward and Knight Foundation three-year partnership -the FAB!/Knight New WorkAwards. Florida Grand Opera Extends Fundraising Deadline in Broward County

Florida Grand Opera (FGO) announces today that the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, in an effort to keep opera in Ft. Lauderdale, has agreed to allow FGO to extend the deadline of when it must confirm the use of 2015–16 dates. FGO must now inform the center that the opera will be using the reserved dates for FGO's 2015-16 productions, Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia and Bellini's Norma, by February 14, 2015.
