Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced the 2016-2017 Broadway on Hennepin Season, featuring the best of Broadway with five Minnesota premieres and five returning favorites. Making their Minneapolis premieres are Fun Home, winner of five 2015 Tony Awards including Best Musical; The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, the 2015 Tony Award-winning Best Play; and Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I, the critically acclaimed 2015 Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical.

Back by popular demand, THE BOOK OF MORMON, which played a record breaking four week run in 2013 returns to Fort Lauderdale for a limited engagement January 26 - February 7, 2016 at The Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the tour cast in action!

Performances for the Miami premiere of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL begin Tuesday, February 2 for a limited one-week run through Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.

BroadwayWorld is excited to report that composer and lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver will open the 2016 season of Lincoln Center's acclaimed AMERICAN SONGBOOK series with a free concert tonight, January 19 at 7:30 pm in the David Rubenstein Atrium.

The 2013 Tony Award-winning musical PIPPIN, described as "an eye-popping, jaw-dropping, visually stunning extravaganza" by NY1, visits the Providence Performing Arts Center February 16 - 21, 2016. In Providence, PIPPIN is part of the Taco/White Family Foundation Broadway Series.

The Old Globe presents the Third Annual New Voices Festival, featuring readings of new American plays by professional playwrights this weekend, January 15 - 17, 2016.

Broadway in Indianapolis, presenting Disney's NEWSIES at Clowes Memorial Hall March 15-20, and IndyStar have partnered to create a unique student journalism contest.  The top three winners will have the chance to interview cast members of NEWISES before the March 15 opening, attend a journalism "story pitch and editing" session with IndyStar arts reporter Wei-Huan Chen and other Star reporters and editors, get their work published in the IndyStar and/or IndyStar.com, and receive tickets to opening night on March 15 and have a chance to meet cast.

The cast includes Gabrielle McClinton as Leading Player; Brian Flores as Pippin; John Rubinstein, who played the role of Pippin in the original Bob Fosse-directed Broadway production, as Charles; Sabrina Harper as Berthe; Bradley Benjamin as Catherine; and Kate Wesler as Fastrada.
