2015 Lotte Lenya Competition Finalists Announced; Rebecca Luker Among Judges

Fourteen exceptionally talented singer-actors from the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany have been selected as finalists in the 2015 Lotte Lenya Competition, held annually by the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music. They will compete for top prizes of $15,000, $10,000 and $7,500 on Saturday, April 18, 2015, in Rochester, New York.

Smithsonian-Inspired HALL OF HUMAN ORIGINS Display to Be Featured in Nationwide Exhibition

The Smithsonian and the American Library Association (ALA) have developed a new traveling exhibition on human evolution based on the iconic “David H. Koch Hall of Human Origins” at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. “Exploring Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human?” will appear at 19 public libraries across the country between April 2015 and April 2017.

Lifetime to Air LITTLE WOMEN: LA Presidents' Day Marathon

This Presidents' Day, Lifetime will air a special Little Women: LA Supersized Marathon, allowing fans to re-live all of the tender, hilarious and big dramatic moments of select episodes from Season One, as well as special new episodes from Season Two featuring never-before-seen footage. The Little Women: LA Supersized Marathon begins Monday, February 16, at 9am ET/PT.

A. D. Players to Present 'ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE...DAY,' 3/3-22

A. D. Players announces that Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day will open March 3 and run through March 22, 2015 on their Grace Theater stage, as the third show of the company's 2014-2015 Children's Theater season.

Rising Phoenix's F**KING IMMACULATE Begins Tonight

After the critical success of its recent Lucille Lortel Award winning Off-Broadway production of Martin Moran's All the Rage (produced with piece by piece productions), acclaimed new play company Rising Phoenix Repertory presents the world premiere of RPR Company Member Sarah Shaefer's new play F**king Immaculate. Building on the company's successful downtown site-specific play series Cino Nights, Rising Phoenix Rep is attempting to grow and expand on its innovative development/production process for new plays, building in a longer rehearsal period and focusing on an even more intimate and immersive experience for artists and audiences alike. The plays will be staged in an Upper West Side apartment to be disclosed to patrons who make reservations in advance. Seating is strictly limited to ten people per night.

The Rainbow Theatre Project's Generation Q Staged Reading Series Continues 2/9

The Rainbow Theatre Project is back to kick off the second-half of its sophomore season with the next installment of its successful Generation Q Staged Reading Series: Bryna Turner's How to Separate Your Soul from Your Body (in ten easy steps) and Steven Korbar's short play, A Quick Stop at the Florist. The reading takes place Monday, February 9, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at Source in Washington, D.C.

Knoxville Opera Partners with Gospel Choir for Special Concert Tonight

Multiple standing ovations by a large crowd who have shouted 'hallelujah' at the five previous performances of Knoxville Opera Goes to Church...A Celebration of Talent! The 5th annual concert, sponsored by Home Federal Bank, DV Communications, and The 5th Commandment Fund will feature the Knoxville Opera Gospel Choir and local soloists together with Knoxville Opera artists in a unique presentation of gospel, spirituals, and highlights from the popular opera Carmen.
