MAN AND SUPERMAN Plays Irish Repertory Theatre; Previews Begin Tonight

Irish Repertory Theatre and Gingold Theatrical Group are joining forces to present a co-production of Shaw's masterpiece, MAN AND SUPERMAN performed at the award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street), as part of Irish Rep's 24th Season and GTG's first-ever 'Shaw New York' festival, with previews to begin tonight, April 26, prior to an official press opening May 6. GTG's artistic director, David Staller, will direct his adaptation of this remarkable comedy, performed with its rarely seen 'interior play' DON JUAN IN HELL.

The American National Theatre (Sean Cullen, Founder; Mark Rubinsky, President) will present, in association with InViolet Repertory Theater and Urban Stages, a staged reading of Erin Mallon's Branched, and Robert Emmet Lunney's For Nina, in association with The Directors Company and Two River Theater Company on Monday, April 30 at Theater Row's Clurman Theater (410 West 42nd Street). This day of readings follows The ANT's first presentation Nobody Suspects a Butterfly, by Christine Henry. Branched will be performed at 4:00PM, and For Nina at 7:00PM. Admission is FREE to the public.

Arvada Center Opens HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, 1/26

On January 26, The Arvada Center opens the children's theater production How I Became a Pirate, book, music and lyrics by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, directed by David and Julie Payne. The stage production is based on the book, How I Became a Pirate written by Melinda Long and Illustrations by David Shannon. The show will run January 26 - March 9 in the Center's Main Stage Theater before moving to the intimate Black Box Theater March 21 - April 14, 2012. Performances are 10am and noon, Tuesday through Friday, Saturdays at 11am - February 18, 25 and March 2 and 11am and 1pm, April 7 and 14.
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE to Take Broadhurst Theatre?

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post today that the upcoming revival of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, which has been hunting for a theatre since this past summer, will take Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (which had been booked by REBECCA up until yesterday) for a Spring 2012 opening.
