Trinity Rep to Partner with RI Blood Center for Blood Drive Tomorrow

Trinity Repertory Company has announced that in tandem with the depression era drama, The Grapes of Wrath, they are partnering with the RI Blood Center for a Blood Drive on Friday, September 13th from 2:30pm-5:30pm at Trinity Repertory Company, 201 Washington St in Providence in order to raise awareness and urge donations. All pre-registered donors will get a free ticket to a performance of The Grapes of Wrath, onstage now through October 6 at Trinity Rep. Trinity Rep to Offer $25 Phoenix Ringside Seats to THE GRAPES OF WRATH

Trinity Repertory Company and The Providence Phoenix have put local audiences front and center with their new Phoenix Ringside Seatsfor John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath, starting September 5th. Performed in a pub setting in the round, the show immerses the audience in the realistic world of the play. Priced at an affordable $25, Phoenix Ringside Seats are private table seating in the middle of the action and include a complementary drink ticket. A limited number of Ringside tables are available for every performance of Grapes of Wrath and are expected to sell out quickly. Trinity Rep kicks off their 50th Anniversary season with John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath, the definitive American tale of the strength of family and the human spirit set in the aftermath of the Great Depression. The Grapes of Wrath begins previews September 5, 2013 and runs until October 6, 2013 in Trinity Rep's Dowling Theater. Adapted for the stage by Frank Galati, this evocative and deeply affecting stage version promises to lift Steinbeck's novel to new heights of theatrical urgency, especially when married with director Brian McEleney's visceral storytelling style. Part naturalistic epic, part road novel, part inspirational gospel, The Grapes of Wrath boasts a 17 member cast and original folk-rock music from the show's band, 3pile. This production is sponsored by Taco/The White Family Foundation.

Three New Actors Named to Resident Acting Company at Trinity Rep

Trinity Repertory Company, the State Theater of Rhode Island is proud to announce that three new company members have been added to their resident acting company roster - Mia Ellis, Rebecca Gibel and Charlie Thurston. All three performers are Brown/Trinity Rep MFA acting program graduates and no strangers to the Trinity Rep stage, having appeared in multiple productions over the past several seasons. The three join Trinity Rep's current resident acting company members: Stephen Berenson, Angela Brazil, Timothy Crowe, Mauro Hantman, Janice Duclos, Brian McEleney, Phyllis Kay, Anne Scurria, Barbara Meek, Fred Sullivan, Jr., Stephen Thorne, Rachael Warren, and Joe Wilson, Jr.

The OC performance of Garden will be held today, June 16 at 2pm in the Dowling Theater followed by the OC performance of House on Sunday, June 30 at 2pm, Chace Theater. This state-of-the-art technology allows Trinity Rep to continue in its mission of providing theater access to a wider community by making performances accessible to patrons with hearing loss.

Powerful, and gripping, the play traces the plight of a woman fighting the rules of society - and ultimately paying the highest price. Performances are tonight, December 4 through December 16 in the Citizens Bank Theater, Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street, Providence.

Trinity Rep opens its 49th season this month with Shakespeare's sweeping tragedy King Lear, a co-production with The Dallas Theater Center (DTC) and directed by DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty. When the aging King Lear decides to divide his power between his three daughters, the results are devastating to the family - and the country. Driven by flattery, foolishness, ambition and greed, each generation soon betrays another and even nature itself revolts. King Lear runs through October 21 in Trinity Rep's intimate Dowling Theater.
