The Orange County Great Park's 2011 Flights and Sounds Summer Festival continues with its free to the public performances until September 3rd. The Festival, which began with Grammy Award winner Branford Marsalis, includes Grammy Award nominated Lucinda Williams (August 13) and closes with world renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band (September 3).

Tony Award winner David Hyde Pierce will appear with the Philadelphia Orchestra to narrate Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, in Saratoga Springs, NY, on July 29 at 8pm. In addition, the roster of events will include an evening with Grammy winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis, and a full screening of classic film Casablanca with a live orchestral performance of the film's score.

It was announced today that world renowned Grammy Award®-winning saxophonist and Tony Award® nominee Branford Marsalis (Fences) will join the creative team as composer of original music for the upcoming Broadway premiere of the new play, The Mountaintop, by Katori Hall, starring Academy Award-nominee Samuel L. Jackson as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Academy Award-nominee & Golden Globe-winner Angela Bassett as Camae. Directed by Tony Award® nominee Kenny Leon (Fences, A Raisin in the Sun), The Mountaintop will begin performances on September 22, 2011, at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street), with an official opening on Thursday, October 13, 2011.
