OSCAR at The Crown, a new immersive nightclub musical, will celebrate its official opening night tonight, Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 3 Dollar Bill (260 Meserole Street, Brooklyn, NY). From the minds of performance collective, The Neon Coven, OSCAR at The Crown was created by Mark Mauriello, features music and choreography by Andrew Barret Cox, and direction by Shira Milikowsky. The immersive musical returns for an open-ended run after a sold out and critically acclaimed run January February.

On Today, January 18th, the immersive queer nightclub musical OSCAR at the Crown will open at 3 Dollar Bill, presented by The Neon Coven. Celebrating the rise and fall of one of history's most flamboyant characters, OSCAR at the Crown brings the audience to a secret bunker far in the fascist future, comprised of sequins, reality television, and the complete works of Oscar Wilde: not much else has survived. And it goes without saying that it's also about the Real Housewives and a minor character from that show The O.C. \_( )_/ And yes, it's ALSO about all of us here today: staring at our phones, wondering if our latest Instagram post is going to flop and if the bombs have started flying yet. A SOULFUL CHRISTMAS, the holiday musical revue from the creative team behind the hit musicals Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical and An Evening With Phyllis Hyman, returned to New York City this weekend (performed Saturday, December 15th at 8:00 pm and Sunday December 16th at 2:00 pm) at The Actor's Temple Theatre (339 West 47th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues).

A SOULFUL CHRISTMAS cast member Burgandy Williams will perform at The 2018 Emery Awards this evening - Wednesday, November 7, 2018 - at Cipriani Wall Street (55 Wall Street, NYC). Ms. Williams was a performer at last year's ceremony, singing Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady."  She returns this year with another Queen of Soul classic - "Respect." The event will be hosted by Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (NBC's "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert"), and also features a performance from singer We McDonald (2017 finalist on NBC's "The Voice").

The Scranton Shakespeare Festival (SSF) will wrap up its seventh season of free theatre - an ambitious program featuring two Shakespeare comedies, two musicals, a new devised work, and its annual Youth Theatre Lab piece -  with the festival's signature last weekend, July 27 - 29, 2018. 

Ophelia Theatre Group, a leading player in Astoria's theatre scene, is presenting its spring musical Lysistrata Jones. Spearheaded by a female-driven production team, Lysistrata tells the tale of a determined cheerleader who leads the students around her in a battle of the sexes. With a rocking score written by Lewis Flinn and book by five-time Tony nominee Douglas Carter Beane, the show will be an immersive experience performed on a faux basketball court at the back of the Variety Boys and Girls Club in Queens. In the first production in New York since its Broadway run, Ophelia Theatre is thrilled to be giving a new feminist life to this baller cult classic! We guarantee laughs, romance and basketballs, lots of basketballs!
