Houston Shakespeare Festival 2016 Plays

For more than 40 years, the school has delivered the Houston Shakespeare Festival (HSF) to eager audiences. This year's event will continue this tradition with free performances of 'Much Ado About Nothing' directed by Jack Young and 'Henry V' directed by Lenny Banovez. Performances run July 29 through Aug. 7 at Hermann Park's Miller Outdoor Theatre (6000 Hermann Park Dr.). All performances begin at 8:15 p.m.

FRESH START to Run 4/1-3 at 52nd Street Project's Five Angels Theater

The 52nd Street Project makes a difference in the lives of countless Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater. Perhaps the most poignant presentations made by The 52nd Street Project are those in its semi-annual Playmaking series, which features the Project's youngest Hell's Kitchen mentees-ten year-olds who have just begun their theatrical education-writing for accomplished professional actors and revealing their work to a public audience for the first time. Accomplished professional actors including Dan Butler, Carson Elrod, Daniel Jenkins, Matt Saldivar and others will perform in Fresh Start: The Rejuvenation Plays, the Project's Spring 2016 Playmaking show.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. The new Broadway production of D.L. Coburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, The Gin Game, starring Tony Award winners James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson, opened last night, October 14 at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). BWW Interview: Jason Dirden in SEVEN GUITARS at Two River Theater

Broadwayworld.com interviewed Jason Dirden who will be playing the role of Canewell in the Two River Theater production of 'Seven Guitars.' Written by August Wilson and directed by Brandon Dirden, the show will be on the Red Bank stage from September 12th to October 4th.

The Greene Space's AMERICAN CENTURY CYCLE Recordings, Featuring Phylicia Rashad & More, Online Now

In the fall of 2013, The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC & WQXR undertook a historic undertaking: to record -- for the first time -- all 10 plays from August Wilson's lauded American Century Cycle. Those audio recordings, along with exclusive video excerpts and photographs from the readings, are now being made available for online streaming on a time-limited basis here until August 26, 2015.

Michael Halberstam to Direct Definition Theatre Company's A DOLL HOUSE

Definition Theatre Company has announced the second show of its 2014/15 season, an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House. Directed by Writers Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam, A Doll's House runs April 3 - May 3, 2015; the press performance is on Thursday, April 9 at 7:30pm. Performances are scheduled Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 4:00pm at the Chopin Theatre (1543W Division Street). Tickets, $25, are on sale now at definitiontheatre.org.
