Breaking: Keri Russell Will Join Adam Driver in BURN THIS on Broadway

Producer David Binder just announced today that Golden Globe Award Winner and Emmy Award Nominee Keri Russell will join three-time Emmy Award nominee Adam Driver in the first revival of Pulitzer Prize Winner Lanford Wilson's BURN THIS. Directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer, BURN THIS will begin performances in March 2019 at a Broadway theater to be announced.

Shakespeare Theatre Company Announces Casting for THE COMEDY OF ERRORS

In honor of Artistic Director Michael Kahn's final season with the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), the opening show of the 2018-2019 Season, William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, will feature beloved performers, many of whom have been with the Company since the very beginning.

San Francisco Playhouse Presents WASHED UP ON THE POTOMAC

Tuesday Smillie Wins Rose Art Museum Award

The Rose Art Museum has named Brooklyn-based, Boston-born artist Tuesday Smillie as the recipient of the 2018-2019 Ruth Ann and Nathan Perlmutter Artist-in-Residence Award. In conjunction with her Perlmutter residency, the Rose will host Smillie's first solo museum exhibition. Organized by Assistant Curator Caitlin Julia Rubin, Tuesday Smillie: To build another world will be on view September 7 through December 2, 2018.

Reagle Music Theatre Ends 50th Summer Season On A High Note With THE MUSIC MAN

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston wraps up the company's spectacular 50th Anniversary Summer Season with The Music Man from August 2-12.  The multiple Tony award-winning musical will run for 8 performances (including 4 matinees) at the Robinson Theatre, 617 Lexington St., Waltham, MA.

A screen door allows circulation-of air, light, conversation. It is a porous boundary, used to mark the transition between inside and out, the personal and public. In the South and beyond, the screen door, like the porch, is a social mediator. It exposes the home to the neighborhood, while still maintaining a veil of privacy. In summer's heavy heat, it is of the utmost importance. The four painters in this exhibition have set up a screen, a scrim, a partition in their paintings that allows them to operate within the exterior, coaxing out the mercurial habits of painting behind a seemingly sound surface.

LEONARD BERNSTEIN: THE POWER OF MUSIC At NMAJH Closes September 2

The special exhibition Leonard Bernstein: The Power of Music is on view through September 2 at the National Museum of American Jewish History (NMAJH). The first large-scale museum exhibition to illustrate the famed conductor and composer's life, Jewish identity, and social activism, Leonard Bernstein: The Power of Music features approximately 100 historic artifacts-from Bernstein's piano and conducting suit to family heirlooms-along with original films and immersive sound installations. The exhibition is part of the worldwide centennial celebration of Bernstein's birthday.

Lyric Stage Names Courtney O'Connor Associate Artistic Director

The Lyric Stage Company of Boston's Producing Artistic Director, Spiro Veloudos, Managing Director, Matt Chapuran, and its Board of Directors today announced that they have named Courtney O'Connor as the company's new Associate Artistic Director.  She assumed her full-time duties at the Lyric Stage on July 9, 2018.

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 39th season of professional theater with the New England premiere of Jason O'Connell and Brenda Withers' Cyrano from July 13 through August 11 at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Red Tape Names New Staff and Company Members

Red Tape Theatre announces the newest members to the growing company! Red Tape Theatre, located in the heart of Lincoln Square at 4546 N. Original Musical BETWEEN THE SEA AND SKY From Australian Composer Luke Byrne Will Make Off-Broadway Debut At NYMF

 Australian playwright and composer Luke Byrneis excited to announce his original new musical Between the Sea and Sky will make its Off-Broadway debut later this summer as part of the 2018 New York Musical Festival's (NYMF) Next Link Project. Featuring an original book, music & lyrics by Mr. Byrne, Between the Sea and Skywill play a 5-performance run at The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row beginning July 31, 2018.

Award-Winning Director Rick Lombardo To Lead Penn State School Of Theatre

Rick Lombardo, award-winning stage director, artistic director, and adapter, has been appointed director of the Penn State School of Theatre, effective July 1, 2018. He is currently the chair of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University in Metro Atlanta, where he recently led the initiative to create a summer professional Shakespeare company called Shakespeare Kennesaw, which launches this summer. 

Tanglewood Music Festival Presents Staged Productions Of Leonard Bernstein's ON THE TOWN, TROUBLE IN TAHITI, and More

As a major highlight of its summer-long celebration, June 15-September 2, of the centennial of Leonard Bernstein's birth, Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in Lenox, MA, has programmed several fully staged and semi-staged productions of Leonard Bernstein's work written for the stage, featuring several Tony Award-winning Broadway performers, choreographers, and directors.
