Rachael Ray Gives Audience Tix to BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON

Today, Rachel Ray gave members of her audience each a pair of tickets to Broadway's BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON. As BroadwayWorld announced earlier this week, the production will conclude its run on Sunday, January 2nd, 2011. It will have played 120 performances.

Today we are talking to one of the top-tier talents in her field of producing theatre for television, the estimable Ellen Krass who is largely responsible for many of the greatest television captures of theatrical events in the last thirty years, starting with the filming of SWEENEY TODD and continuing with FOLLIES: IN CONCERT in the early 1980s, through to SWEENEY TODD: IN CONCERT, CANDIDE: IN CONCERT, COMPANY and last year's CYRANO starring Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner. Tonight marks the PBS debut of SONHDEIM! ROLEX Career Transition For Dancers 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee was a complete sell out with everyone of the 2,700 seats at City Center filled. Over 800 guests went on the the Hilton for the Anniversary supper, the live luxury auction and dancing with the dancers. The evening raised a cool $ 1.2 Million which will go to CTFD's scholarship programs. Allen Brill, ROLEX USA, CEO & President committed to presenting the annual Jubilee for three more years.

It was an emotional evening last night as THE MERCHANT OF VENICE celebrated its official opening night on Broadway. On Friday, the show announced that it would push back it's official press opening to accommodate its star, Lily Rabe whose mother, actress Jill Clayburgh sadly passed away at 66 on November 5. A world premiere screening of the Sondheim: The Birthday Concert was held at the NYIT Auditorium on November 1, 2010 and attended by cast, crew and friends. The star-studded event, Sondheim! The Birthday Concert, celebrating the 80th birthday of the Broadway and film legend Stephen Sondheim with performances of his music and songs by some of the world's biggest talents, will make its debut on PBS stations across the country on November 24th, thanks to the Emmy Award-winning producer Ellen M. Krass and multiple Tony Award-winning co-producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley in association with Thirteen/WNET and Image Entertainment. The production, which is hosted by David Hyde Pierce, will air at 9PM ET (check local listings).

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The MusicaL began a pre-Broadway engagement yesterday, Tuesday, October 12, at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto, Canada, prior to beginning performances at Broadway's Palace Theatre in New York City on February 28, and opening March 20, 2011. The New York Post is reporting star Bette Midler loved the show so much that she's invested a 'sizable chunk' of money and will be billed as an above the title producer. The paper also reports that she will be hands-on in rehearsals and note sessions as well for the Broadway-bound musical.

To kickoff the first week of performances of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON and fittingly, the coming election season, producers of the show announce a partnership with ROCK THE VOTE organization in hopes to reach out and remind people to register to vote, especially as the midterm elections approach. As part of this partnership, on Friday, September 24th, volunteers from ROCK THE VOTE will be at the theatre at the beginning and at the end of the show with voter registration sign up sheets.
