Baryshnikov Arts Center Announces Fall 2019 Season

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Fall 2019 season of dance, music, and multimedia presentations, running September 27 through December 6. Tickets from $15-$25 for all BAC Presents performances are on sale now at bacnyc.org or 866 811 4111. BAC also announces BAC Space Fall 2019, providing creative residencies to artists across disciplines to develop new works of dance, theater, music, and multimedia.

Martha Graham Dance Company Presents THE EVE PROJECT At The Joyce Theater In New York City

The world-renowned Martha Graham Dance Company returns to The Joyce Theater April 2–14, 2019 with The EVE Project, the Company's season theme celebrating female empowerment and the upcoming 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. The season focuses on both historical and contemporary ideas of the feminine. Commissioned works from five of today's top choreographers will be presented, and the classic repertory features Martha Graham's heroines and anti-heroines—all with an underlying statement about female power.

Who am I? Who are you?  Who are we?  Struggling for a stable identity and steadiness in an unsteady world where barriers are falling away and rising at the same time, the international lineup in the 2019 La MaMa Moves! dance festival—Yin Mei, Bobbi Jene Smith, Dan Safer, Hari Krishnan, Gruppo Nanou, Sin Cha Hong, Jesca Prudencio, Mia Habib, and Colleen Thomas—challenge such issues with unique urgency and originality. Their responses, alternately brightly witty, dead-on serious, and/or dark-humored, emerge from their singular historic and current cultural perspectives. 

Martha Graham Dance Company Announces 2019 Season Gala

The Martha Graham Dance Company will host its annual gala on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. This special gala evening will honor Barbara Cohen, a Trustee of the Martha Graham Center, for her generosity and service to the company. Proceeds from the gala support the creation of new works and preservation of Martha Graham masterpieces. The event is the nonprofit organization's largest annual fundraiser.

Annenberg Center Live And NextMove Dance Present The Martha Graham Dance Company

Annenberg Center Live and NextMove Dance present the Martha Graham Dance Company in the EVE Project, Friday, January 25 (8 PM) and Saturday, January 26 (2 PM and 7 PM). The EVE Project commemorates the upcoming centennial of the 19th Amendment (which extended the right to vote to American women) with works by all female choreographers, staying true to Graham's tradition of social activism. The program features the Philadelphia premiere of Graham's powerful Chronicle; the first preview performance of Deo, a new work by celebrated choreographers Maxine Doyle and Bobbi Jene Smith, Graham's Diversion of Angels, and Ekstasis by Graham, reimagined by Virginie Mecene. Jacob's Pillow Announces 2019 Festival Season Lineup

Jacob's Pillow announces the full season lineup of Festival 2019 including world premieres, new commissions, international artists, anniversary celebrations, Pillow-exclusive engagements, and work developed at the Pillow Lab. Entering its 87th consecutive summer, Jacob's Pillow is home to the longest-running dance festival in the United States, a National Historic Landmark, a National Medal of Arts recipient, and has steadily expanded its reach in the field and its local community as a year-round center for dance research and development. Festival 2019 opens June 19, attracting audiences both on and off its site in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, through August 25.

Martha Graham Dance Company Presents NEW@Graham With Maxine Doyle And Bobbi Jene Smith

The Martha Graham Dance Company's NEW@Graham series offers a look inside the creative process of new works commissioned by the Company. On December 18 and 19, the Company will present a work-in-progress showing of choreographers Maxine Doyle and Bobbi Jene Smith's collaborative work for the Company, followed by a conversation with the artists. NEW@Graham will take place on Tuesday, December 18, and Wednesday, December 19, at 7pm, at the Martha Graham Studio Theater.

Jacob's Pillow Announces Four Artists Of Festival 2019

In advance of the full Festival announcement in mid-December, Jacob's Pillow announces four companies that will be presented in 2019. Following the record-breaking ticket sales of Festival 2018 and amidst a robust season of artist residencies in the Pillow Lab and new programming which serves Berkshire County's year-round population, America's longest-running dance festival gears up for its 87th consecutive summer, June 19-August 25. Compañia Irene Rodriguez brings a particular vision of flamenco that is both Spanish and Cuban, featuring a world premiere; Caleb Teicher & Company presents More Forever, a highly anticipated new collaboration with innovative composer/pianist Conrad Tao; the Martha Graham Dance Company celebrates female power with Graham classics, a suite of Lamentation Variations, and a new work by Maxine Doyle and Bobbi Jene Smith; and Boston Ballet returns for the first time in over a decade with works by William Forsythe, resident choreographer Jorma Elo, and twentieth century Russian choreographer Leonid Yakobson.

American Modern Opera Company Returns To A.R.T. For Second Annual RUN AMOC! FESTIVAL

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Producer Diane Borger, announces the return of American Modern Opera Company (AMOC) for its second annual Run AMOC! Festival December 14-16, 2018. The "hot-bed of boundary-pushing, inventive, chance-taking artists" (ZEALnyc) will present four pieces featuring company members at venues around Harvard Square in Cambridge.

ODC Theater Presents Bobbi Jene Smith In The World Premiere Of WITH CARE

ODC Theater is proud to present dancer and choreographer Bobbi Jene Smith in collaboration with violinist Keir GoGwilt in the world premiere of WITH CARE, November 1 - 3. Co-commissioned by ODC Theater and American Modern Opera Company, With Care is a follow-up to the artists' first collaboration, A Study on Effort, performed at ODC Theater in 2017. Annenberg Center Live and NextMove Dance have announced a new co-presenting partnership that will consolidate contemporary dance productions under one roof at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Pennsylvania. In the 2018-19 season, Annenberg Center Live and NextMove Dance will present 11 dance ensembles for Philadelphia audiences: Circa, Spectrum Dance Theater, Jessica Lang Dance, Caleb Teicher & Company, Martha Graham Dance Company, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Dance Heginbotham, Union Tanguera + Kate Weare Company, Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers, BODYTRAFFIC, and Parsons Dance.
