When the Rain Stops Falling is a heartbreaking story of a journey across time where the acts of the past prove devastating to the next generation. Spanning 1959 to 2039 and featuring four generations of a family, the play was named Time Magazine's Best New Play of 2010, Circle stages the Chicago Premiere of When the Rain Stops Falling.
The Jeff Awards today announced 124 nominations in 25 categories for Non-Equity Jeff Awards for productions that opened between April 1, 2011, and March 31, 2012. The Non-Equity Awards honor excellence in Chicago theatres not under a union contract. Jeff Awards judges covered opening nights of 154 productions offered by 71 Non-Equity producing organizations. The judges recommended 64 of those shows, making them eligible for Non-Equity Jeff Award nominations. Thirty-two theatre companies received nominations.

COMPASSION!, MASTER CLASS and RAGTIME, Terrence McNally, Circle Theatre's production of THE RITZ opened on February 15th.When straight businessman Gaetano Proclo discovers he's being pursued by the mob, he unwittingly takes cover in a gay bathhouse with an increasingly bizarre and endearing cast of characters. He takes on the guise of a Broadway producer to further hide his identity and farcical merriment ensues.
