Lynne Meadow and Barry Grove have announced that Tony and Emmy Award winner John Lithgow returns to Broadway in the Manhattan Theatre Club world premiere production of THE COLUMNIST by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner David Auburn, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan. In this new play, Lithgow plays noted newspaper columnist Joseph Alsop. This limited engagement will begin previews on Tuesday, April 3 and open Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Tony Award winner Ben Vereen is traveling from Los Angeles to Houston, Texas today to be a special guest performer in The Musical Theatre of Houston's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Vereen will star as Pontius Pilate in a production directed and choreographed by Aaron Callies. The curtain rises for two shows August 19-20 at the Wortham Brown Theatre at 8:00pm both evenings and will include a cast of Sam Brown as Jesus, Jacqueline Grady as Mary Magdalene, and Tommie Harper as Judas.

The jazz score includes the hits 'All That Jazz,' 'Cell Block Tango,' and 'Razzle Dazzle.' Chicago was winner of six Tony Awards (1996) including Best Revival. Stage Left Productions, the same company that brought The Who's Tommy to Hammonton, will perform the classic musical Cabaret at the Eagle Theatre, located at 208 Vine Street in Downtown Hammonton, at 8pm on August 12, 13, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27, and 2pm on August 14 and 21.
