New Theatre continues with its second World Premiere of the season with Michelle Rosenfarb's coming of age drama, The Gates of Choice making its debut on November 13, 2008. Set in Israel 's Ultra Orthodox quarter of Mea Shearim, a Hasidic young woman facing an arranged marriage finds refuge and answers in a taboo relationship to the secular world.

It has been announced that MTC's production of TO BE OR NOT TO BE will play its final performance on November 16th, 2008. November 16th, 2008 is the end of Manhattan Theater Club's subscription run. They had previously been offering tickets through November 23rd, 2008, but will now be canceling that week of performances. Patrons who have purchased tickets for performances through November 23rd, 2008 should return to their point of purchase for a refund.

This year honoring the renowned editor and author Judith Jones, Cabaret Gourmet is a theatrical celebration of food, glorious food and a tribute to the shared spirit of the culinary and theater arts.

The 2008 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to Judith Thompson for her critically acclaimed play Palace of the End, marking the first time a Canadian writer has received the prestigious playwriting award's highest honor. Thompson received $20,000 and a signed and numbered print by artist Willem de Kooning at a special 30th Anniversary ceremony on Monday, March 10th at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas where Ms. Blackburn first became involved in theatre.

Academy Award nominated and Golden Globe Award winning actress Marsha Mason, starring in A Feminine Ending at Playwrights Horizons, will be hosted by the New York Women in Film and Television for an evening entitled 'Conversations With…' on Monday October 22.

Directed by Tony Award winner Blair Brown, A Feminine Ending opens on Wednesday, October 17 at 7PM. Performances will continue through Sunday, November 11 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

The Play Company kicks off its 2007-2008 season with the American premiere of Bad Jazz by Robert Farquhar. Directed by Trip Cullman, Bad Jazz will play a limited Off-Broadway run from Sunday, November 4 - Sunday, November 25 at the Ohio Theatre (66 Wooster Street). Official opening is set for Sunday, November 11 at 7PM.

The Play Company presents a special evening with Board Member Susan Stroman and a benefit performance of Broadway's Young Frankenstein on Tuesday, October 23.
