Playwrights Horizons has announced additional casting and details for the second production of its 2007/2008 Season, the World Premiere of A Feminine Ending, a new play by Sarah Treem.

Directed by Tony Award winner Blair Brown, the production will begin previews on Thursday, October 4 with an official opening on Wednesday, October 17 at 7PM.  Performances will continue through Sunday, November 11 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

As previously announced, the cast will feature 4-time Academy Award nominee, 2-time Golden Globe winner and stage veteran Marsha Mason (Oscar nominations for The Goodbye Girl, Cinderella Liberty, Only When I Laugh and Chapter Two; on Broadway in The Good Doctor, Roundabout's Night of the Iguana and the recent Steel Magnolias).

Joining Mason will be Emmy Award nominee and veteran character actor Richard Masur (Six Degrees of Separation, Emmy nomination for "The Burning Bed," Democracy on Broadway, The Exonerated Off-Broadway), Alec Beard (Tartuffe on Broadway, As You Like It for Shakespeare in the Park), Gillian Jacobs (Cagelove, "Blackbird" film) and Joe Paulik (Measure for Measure at 45 Bleecker, Major Barbara at The Guthrie).

"In A Feminine Ending, having recently graduated from a major conservatory, and with her rocker boyfriend (Alec Beard) on the brink of mega-stardom, aspiring composer Amanda Blue's (Gillian Jacobs) 'extraordinary life' seems to be all mapped out. But when she's called home to answer a distress call from her mother (Marsha Mason) about a marital crisis, Amanda's grand plan starts to unravel. A Feminine Ending is a bittersweet new comedy about dreams deferred, loves lost and learning to trust a woman's voice in a man's world."

The production features scenic design by Cameron Anderson, costume design by Tony Award nominee Michael Krass, lighting design by Ben Stanton and sound design by Obadiah Eaves.  Production Stage Manager will be Robyn Henry.

The performance schedule for A Feminine Ending will be Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at 2 & 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 & 7PM.  There will be an additional performance on Monday, October 15 at 7:30 PM.  Tickets are $50 and will go on sale to the general public starting Wednesday, September 12.  Tickets may be purchased online via www.TicketCentral.com, by phone at 212-279-4200, or in person at the Ticket Central Box Office, 416 West 42nd Street (between 9th & 10th Avenues) or visit www.playwrightshorizons.org
