Berkshire Playwrights Lab will present the Berkshire Playwrights Lab Sixth Season Multi-Media Gala Celebration on Friday, June 7 at 7:30pm and staged readings of new plays on Wednesdays, July 10, July 24, August 7, and August 21 at 7:30pm at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center (14 Castle Street, Great Barrington, Mass.). The company will also present its first full workshop production, Anna Ziegler's Life Science, June 19 through June 30 (press opening June 21), Wednesdays through Saturdays at8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm, with the exception of the Saturday, June 22 performance, which will begin at 9:30pm at Bard College at Simon's Rock Daniel Arts Center (84 Alford Road, Great Barrington, Mass.).

Now celebrating its 21st Anniversary, The Blank Theatre's Nationwide Young Playwrights Festival has chosen 12 plays by young playwrights aged 10 - 19, from six different states. These plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in this year's festival at The Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, June 6 - 30.

The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) has announced the lineup of full-length plays and musicals for its fourteenth season, running from July 15 to August 4, 2013 at the June Havoc Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC, 1st floor; the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC, 1st floor; the Main Stage Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC, 4th floor; and the Jewel Box Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC, 4th floor. Russell Grant finds himself sharing the dance floor with his favourite partner, Flavia Cacace, along with Vincent Simone, in the West End run of Olivier Award-nominated Midnight Tango, which runs for a strictly limited season at The Phoenix Theatre through 2 March 2013. A recent performance of BAM's production of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE was postponed for almost an hour and a half as the result of a traffic backup that caused the star, Cate Blanchett, to arrive late at the theatre. The audience was told the 3:00pm performance would be postponed until 4:00pm, and then delayed again until 4:30pm to allow the star time to arrive at the theatre.
