La Jolla Playhouse announced today the cast and creative team of its upcoming world-premiere musical Little Miss Sunshine, by the Tony Award-winning creative team of composer/lyricist William Finn and playwright/director James Lapine. Mr. Lapine has enjoyed a long association with the Playhouse, having previously directed Merrily We Roll Along (1985) and Luck, Pluck and Virtue (1993). The production runs February 15 - March 27, 2011 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.

A distinguished list of entertainers joined in honoring Tony Award® and Emmy Award® winning actor Billy Crystal, Class of 1970, at the Tisch School of Arts' annual gala, The Face of Tisch including Christina Bianco '03, The Bob Cantwell New Orleans Jazz Band, Seán Curran '84, James Franco '11, Whoopi Goldberg, Marcia Gay Harden '88, Isaiah Johnson '10, Jesse L. Martin '91, Krysta Rodriguez '06, Paul Shaffer, Noah Weisberg '98, and Robin Williams. The event was held on Monday, December 6th at the renowned Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Those scheduled to participate include Christina Bianco '03, The Bob Cantwell New Orleans Jazz Band, Seán Curran '84, James Franco '11, Whoopi Goldberg, Marcia Gay Harden '88, Isaiah Johnson '10, Jesse L. Today, Tuesday, May 25, The Kennedy Center announced that Tina Fey is the 2010 recipient of the Mark Twain Prize of American Humor. Established in 1998, the annual award is to an individual who has had an impact on American society in ways similar to 19th century novelist and essayist, Mark Twain. The ceremony, to be held Tuesday November 9, will feature a lineup of the biggest names in comedy, and will be taped for television broadcast.
