One of the longest running one-man comedy shows MY MOTHER'S ITALIAN, MY FATHER'S JEWISH & I'M IN THERAPY, a 90 minute laugh-fest with a "cast" of outrageous characters created and played by comedian Steve Solomon is coming to The Temple Theater for a limited two week engagement May 11 to 22, 2011.

We'll meet: Uncle Willie, Stuttering Cousin Bob, Demented Cousin Kenny, Steve's new therapist  Cousin Sal (and Sal's parole officer) and a myriad of astounding characters we know, love and tolerate from our own families; each one brought to life on stage by Steve using his gift for creating voices dialects & wacky sound effects that only add to the hilarity of each story.

Variety says "Steve is Alan King, Billy Crystal, a smidgen of Don Rickles and George Carlin all thrown in," while WOR Radio calls the show "an hour and a half of laughter, hysterically funny!"  Having headlined throughout the United States and Europe for over twenty years, Steve's stories relate to the wacky side of the human condition.

Literally hundreds of thousands of people have seen this award-winning show. This is a "don't miss" evening of hilarious comedy at its very best. Spend an evening with Steve in his quest to defend himself against those people whose sole purpose in life is to add chaos to his.

Steve Solomon (Star/Creator)
To say that an evening spent with Steve Solomon is like being with a dear, funny friend, is an understatement.  In truth, an evening with Steve is more like being with dozens of hilarious friends and eccentric members of your own family.

Steve has taken the art of impersonation and honed it into a science.  He masterfully weaves different dialects and crazy characters into his stories.  These tales take on a life of their own as Steve recounts memorable moments from his past and makes hysterical observations on topics we all identify with.

A native of Brooklyn, Steve grew up in the multi-ethnic neighborhood of Sheepshead Bay.  This was the perfect training ground for a dialectician.  As the class clown and as a very authentic sounding Chinese restaurant delivery boy, Steve learned at an early age how to use his gift for imitating accents to his advantage.

He also realized that he was a prolific writer of jokes; real jokes. And, blinded by the "glitz" of show business, he submitted dozens of his stories to periodicals, friends and stand up comics he knew in the business.

Steve's, two-time award winning: MY MOTHER'S ITALIAN... has met with rave reviews and great audience acclaim throughout the country; and became one of the longest running one man comedy shows in Broadway history.  Steve's newest pet project "HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS" highlights the very best of his talents as a comedy writer and performer. It's already a hit!

We meet the people that we're all too familiar with; thirty in all--the family members that make you remember why you left home in the first place. We get to see nuances into the personalities of the dozens of characters we'll meet along the way. Case in point: Steve's sister, "THE SMOKER."  The, "She can do no wrong in the eyes of Mama..." sister. The, "Why can't you get good grades like your sister?... sister.  The, "How come she cleans up her room so nice and YOU can't?"...sister. Well you get the picture.

MY MOTHER'S ITALIAN... It's a laugh-filled fest of everybody you know, have known and some you'd want to forget but can't; all brought to life on stage by the comic magic of Steve Solomon.
