Lawrence Zucker, Artistic and Executive Director of The Town Hall is pleased to present the upcoming Broadway By The Year concerts. -- After the first two all-star, critically acclaimed, sold out concerts at The Town Hall, Broadway by the Year continues its year of unparalleled excellence by announcing just some of the stars that have committed to performing in the last two concerts of the season. Making their Broadway by the Year debuts in concerts on either May 12 or June 16 are Brian d'Arcy James, Mandy Gonzalez, Alice Ripley, Jeff McCarthy, Lorin Latarro, and Terri Klausner. Now in its eighth season, Broadway By The Year is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall.

Award-winning author/director Jackie Alexander's 'BIRTHRIGHT' takes place one year after Katrina in Slidell, Louisiana, fifteen miles northeast of New Orleans. 'BIRTHRIGHT' will have its World Premiere at the Billie Holiday Theatre ( 1368 Fulton Street, Brooklyn) on Friday, May 16th where it will run through Sunday, June 29th.

The Metropolitan Room's April schedule includes new shows from the headliners Karen Mason, Marilyn Maye and Julie Wilson. In honor of Black History Month, La MaMa e.t.c. is proud to present Beatrice Manley's Conjur Woman, a dramatic folk opera chillingly sung by Obie-Winner Sheila Dabney and directed by George Ferencz, a resident director at La MaMa. Original music for Conjur Woman is composed by La MaMa Founder & Artistic Director Ellen Stewart along with Sheila Dabney, Harry Mann, Jasper McGruder and Yukio Tsuji, and is played on a cornucopia of instruments including a harmonica, washboard, jug, acoustic guitar, bass and percussion…think 1800s music of the slave. Performances take place January 31 to February 10, 2008 in a limited engagement at La MaMa's Annex Theater in NYC.
