The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced the nominees for the 14th annual 5th Avenue Awards Honoring High School Musical Theater.

The Tony Award winner for Best Musical, A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, will play The 5th Avenue Theatre as a part of its First National Tour, which launched in September, 2015.

The 5th Avenue Theatre presents an exciting new 'revisal' of the sweeping saga Lerner & Loewe's PAINT YOUR WAGON. Featuring an all-new book by Pulitzer Prize nominee John Marans, this show has taken an incredible journey over the last five years from developmental workshops to The 5th Avenue stage this season. Dear Reader (It only seems appropriate to start this review off with that), sometimes a show comes along that feels like a no brainer. A show that's fairly bulletproof and if a theater does it well enough with enough pieces in place then it'll be a crowd pleaser. 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying' is one of those shows. You're bound to walk away from it with something you enjoyed. BroadwayWorld has received word that Broadway's recent rock 'n' roll hit A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN will replace the musical in development SLEEPING BEAUTY WAKES as part of The 5th Avenue Theatre's 2015/16 season. The show will share the same run dates (March 25-April 17) with minor changes to the performance schedule.

High school students from across Washington State packedThe 5th Avenue Theatre tonight for The 13th Annual 5th Avenue Awards Honoring High School Musical Theater, a high school version of the Tony Awards, proudly sponsored by Wells Fargo with additional support from Alaska Airlines. The house was packed with over 2,000 teenagers, many in costumes representing their schools' musical theater productions, who cheered for their peers as they performed musical excerpts and accepted awards honoring top student achievements in musical theater. The acclaimed event, directed this year by Kat Ramsburg, handed out awards in 21 categories ranging from Outstanding Overall Musical Production to Outstanding Lobby Display.

Multi-talented actress and singer Jenifer Lewis returns to The 5th Avenue Theatre to headline the festivities at Cirque du 5th, the company's 12th Annual A Night at the 5th Gala, set for tonight, May 29th. Ms. Lewis was last seen at The 5th in 2009 in the starring role of Dolly Levi in the popular production of Hello, Dolly!, directed and choreographed by 5th Avenue Executive Producer and Artistic Director, David Armstrong.
