Hamer Hall Celebrates 30th Birthday, November 4

Hot-on-the-heels of the triumphant re-opening of Hamer Hall is the esteemed auditorium's 30th Birthday, which will be celebrated with a cake cutting and performance by Eddie Perfect and Tripod who will perform a song from their upcoming Arts Centre Melbourne presents show Perfect Tripod: Australian Songs at 12.30pm on Sunday November 4.

BUDDY, HARVEY and More Highlight Sierra Rep's 2013 Season

Sierra Repertory Theatre will open its 2013 season with the biographical musical BUDDY: The Buddy Holly Story. With nine shows in all, the recently announced 2013 season will also include a summer performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!, a fall performance of the comedic play Harvey, and a special Christmas run of It's a Wonderful Life: The Radio Play, which will close the season. Season tickets are now on sale, and general admission tickets go on sale to the public October 1.

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, A Fish Called Wanda is being given musical treatment by original screenwriter John Cleese and his daughter Camilla. Bill Bailey has been recruited to compose. In an interview with The Hour, Cleese reveals that he has altered the last 20 minutes of the show in the stage version. Of the new plot addition he says: 'So we changed the last 20 minutes completely, they now escape in a helicopter from London Zoo so it's been great fun changing it.'
