Lincoln Center Theater has announced the addition of two new plays to its 2014-2015 season: THE MYSTERY OF LOVE AND SEX by Bathsheba Doran, to be directed by Sam Gold, which begins previews Thursday, February 5, and opens on Monday, March 2, at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater; and the LCT3 production of VERITE by Nick Jones, to be directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, beginning Saturday, January 31 through Sunday, March 15, and opening on Wednesday, February 18 at the Claire Tow Theater.

Stage Left Theatre announces the upcoming Midwest premiere of The Coward written by Nick Jones and directed by Artistic Director Vance Smith. The Producers Guild of America (PGA) and Cadillac are pleased to announce the mentors for the Make Your Markcompetition– a short film competition open to producers across the country. Participating producers will compete for the opportunity of a lifetime – a portion of the winning short film and the winning producer's name will be featured in Cadillac's :30 spot that will air on ABC during the Oscars, on Sunday, February 22. The competition honors the work of renowned Academy Award® winning filmmaker Saul Zaentz (“The English Patient,” “Amadeus,” “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest”), who passed away earlier this year. Feature film awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 25 in Park City, hosted by husband-and-wife duo Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally and livestreamed at www.sundance.org/live. Offerman headlines the film Nick Offerman: American Ham in the Festival's Premieres section. Mullally voices a character in the English-language version of Ernest and Celestine, which will have its world premiere in the Festival's new Sundance Kids section.

According to the New York Times, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, which premiered at La Jolla Playhouse in 2011 and has long been buzzed about for a New York Transfer, will open at Second Stage Theatre in October 2013. Composed by William Finn and written by James Lapine, the show currently has no plans for a Broadway run after playing at Second Stage but a transfer is a 'possibility, given the talents involved.' Previews are set to begin on October 15.

Sloan Foundation Initiative commissions for Manhattan Theatre Club. Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that both LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and LEAP OF FAITH are considering making Spring bows on Broadway as they evaluate both potential available theatres and 'Best New Musical' competitors. Talking to producers for LEAP OF FAITH, Riedel reports 'When I asked about their plans, they said: " 'Leap of Faith' is planning to open [in] fall 2012. If we were presented with the possibility of a spring opening, we would strongly consider it, but many pieces would have to fall into place to make that happen."
