Music in The Moonlight Jazz Series with Don Braden Set for 4/21 at Luna Stage

Luna Stage continues its Jazz Series with "R&B Goes Jazz", featuring critically acclaimed saxophonist and flutist Don Braden. Braden, performing with drummer Cecil Brooks III and others, will play his contemporary standards repertoire, featuring Jazz arrangements of songs by Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind and Fire, Roberta Flack and others. He will also perform some of his original compositions. 'R&B Goes Jazz' will be presented on Sunday, April 21st at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale now ($18 in advance, $20 at the door) and can be purchased in person, over the phone at 973-395-5551, or on the Luna Stage website: www.lunastage.org.

From the cultural significance of Chubby Checker's song-and-dance phenomenon and the historic moment of Van Cliburn's triumphant Cold War performance in Moscow to the artistry of Cuban bassist Israel “Cachao” Lopez's all-star jam sessions, the 2012 inductees to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress reflect the diversity and creativity of the American experience. The Librarian of Congress, James H. Billington, today announced the selection of 25 sound recordings to the registry, marked for preservation because of their cultural, artistic and historic importance to the nation's aural legacy.

Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts (www.usdan.com), the Long Island summer arts day camp whose alumni include Mariah Carey, Natalie Portman and Olivia Thirlby, and once again chosen as a "Best Camp" for 2012 by TimeOutNY/Kids, presents its Festival Concerts lineup for its 45th season.
