Continuing its 25th Anniversary Season, Lookingglass Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of Big Lake Big City, written by Keith Huff and directed by Ensemble Member David Schwimmer. Tickets are now on sale for the production, running June 19 - August 11, 2013 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. The Press Opening is Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.
ABC Cancels WORK IT After Two Episodes

EWonline.com reports that ABC has already pulled the plug on its new comedy WORK IT after airing only two episodes. The cross-dressing sitcom had recently created a stir with The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and the Human Rights Campaign.

Goodman Theatre extends Yasmina Reza's laugh-out-loud, triple-Tony-Award winning God of Carnage, directed by Rick Snyder, for five additional performances. The 'savagely entertaining' (Variety) God of Carnage now runs through April 17 with its ensemble cast of four intact. When Alan (David Pasquesi) and Annette (Beth Lacke)'s son hits Michael (Keith Kupferer) and Veronica (Mary Beth Fisher)'s son with a stick, the two couples meet to discuss the problem over clafouti and coffee. What starts as a civilized get-together quickly devolves into a riotous evening that The New Yorker calls 'ninety minutes of sustained mayhem.' God of Carnage earned critical acclaim in London and on Broadway earning the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy and three Tony Awards, including Best Play. TimeLine Theatre Company, dedicated to presenting plays inspired by history that connect to today's social and political issues, has finalized its four-play 2010-11 season. The Chicago premiere of In Darfur by Winter Miller, directed by Nick Bowling, joins three previously released titles: The Chicago premiere of Frost/Nixon by Peter Morgan, the world premiere of Mastering the Art by William Brown and Doug Frew, and The Front Page by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur.
