?Nightwood Theatre continues its 2014/15 season with the world premiere of HER2 by celebrated playwright Maja Ardal at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, 12 Alexander Street, from January 13 to February 1, 2015. Directed by Kim Blackwell and featuring a stellar all-female cast, HER2 is a probing examination of the uneasy relationship between medical science and the human spirit.

Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet opened its 2013-14 season on September 6 & 7 with performances at City Center Studios in New York. It's a simple setting with no lighting, which adds to direct connection it has with the audience.

In its newest showcase, the New Chamber Ballet presented pared-down experimental works alongside graceful pieces with classical credentials. It was an evening enriched by an intimate atmosphere, and by choreographer Miro Magloire's attention to tone, gesture, and detail.
NYC and Tokyo-based clarinetist, Thomas Piercy performs two concerts of new music by contemporary Japanese composers based on their thoughts about NYC and works by non-Japanese composers influenced or inspired by Japan. The concerts will be visually backed by projections of photos of New York City by photographer Christina Boers and photos of Tokyo by Thomas Piercy. Many of the pieces have been composed for and premiered by Mr. Piercy. Several of the pieces include the combination of Western classical instruments with traditional Japanese instruments (shakuhachi and hichiriki).
The annual National Meningitis Association (NMA) Give Kids a Shot Gala was once again an emotion filled evening but a stellar success in aiding the fight against meningitis, a potentially vaccine preventable disease. Held in the elegant ballrooms of the historic New York Athletic Club with phenomenal views of Central Park as a backdrop, hundreds of New York's movers and shakers turned out to support the cause and also to congratulate meningitis survivor & Para Olympic Gold Medalist Nick Springer, an Honorary Chair along with Ambassador & Mrs. John L. Next season the orchestra will again present a 7-concert Masterpiece Series featuring a rich variety of guest artists. All concerts except the season's opening concert will take place in Glenn Gould Studio. The series will open tonight, October 27 with a special Gala Concert at George Weston Recital Hall featuring the cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan. Mr. Hakhnazaryan became an instant sensation last June when he won the Gold Medal at the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow. Tonight's October 27 concert with Sinfonia Toronto will be Mr. Hakhnazaryan's Canadian debut.
