LuPone, Grammer et al. Honor Gersten, Viola at The Acting Company's Masquerade Gala, 11/22

Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer of Lincoln Center Theater (LCT) will receive the John Houseman Award for his work at Lincoln Center and as Joseph Papp's Associate Producer of The New York Shakespeare Festival (NYSF) at The Acting Company's Masquerade Gala on Monday, November 22 at The Pierre Hotel, New York City. Tom Viola, Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), will also be honored with the Joan Warburg Humanitarian Award for his leadership and advocacy in the fight against AIDS. Kelsey Grammer and Patti LuPone will entertain as Angela Lansbury, Marian Seldes, Elizabeth Wilson, Campbell Scott, Dana Ivey, Shubert's Philip Smith and Robert Wankel, Jujamcyn's Paul Libin, Equity's Nick Wyman, The Actors Fund's Joe Benecasa and The Broadway League's Charlotte St. Martin join the salute.

LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences, has announced that Steven Boyer, Jarlath Conroy, John Patrick Dougherty, Stephen Ellis, Richard Poe, Kristen Schaal, Jeremy Strong, and Christopher Evan Welch will be featured in its world premiere production of THE COWARD, a new play by Nick Jones, directed by Sam Gold, the first of LCT3's three productions during the 2010-2011 season.

Last night, November 8, The New 42nd Street Gala honored Tony Award winning actor Bill Irwin. The annual event, which this year celebrates The New Victory Theater Education Program, featured guests Nathan Lane, Jonathan Demme, new vaudeville troupe The Handsome Little Devils and Full Circle Productions (under the direction of Gabriel 'Kwikstep' Dionisio and Ana 'Rokafella' Garcia), Kevin Kline, Phoebe Cates Kline and more. After accepting his award, Irwin took the stage with 12 4th graders from PS/IS 111 to present a special musical vaudeville finale, the product of student workshops led by Irwin with children from The New Victory Education Residency program. Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced final casting for its upcoming production of John Guare's new play A FREE MAN OF COLOR. Justina Machada (HBO's Six Feet Under and Broadway's , In The Heights) and veteran actor John McMartin (Follies, Into The Woods, Showboat, Sweet Charity) will join Paul Dano, mos and Jeffrey Wright in the production, to be directed by George C. Wolfe.
