SPIDER-MAN Flying Sequences Are Approved

The New York Times is reporting that on Friday, safety inspectors from the New York State Department of Labor saw and signed off on all 27 flying sequences in SPIDER MAN, and the show will indeed begin previews tonight at 6:30 pm. After last night's dress rehearsal was cancelled, it's been speculated at the entire show won't be performed tonight; the Times reports that stops during this evening's performance are possible and also notes that the final 10 minutes are 'not fully finished'.

The producers of the Public Theater's Tony Award-winning production of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical are pleased to announce casting for the National Tour, which is coming to the Marcus Center on February 22 and runs through February 27, 2011. This Milwaukee engagement is presented by Broadway Across America-Milwaukee and the Marcus Center as part of the Time Warner Cable Broadway at the Marcus Center Series. AracaWorks Holds Readings for Plays by Kotis, Norman, et al., 12/6-10

AracaWorks is a five-day, five-play series celebrating new plays. Each night, audiences will be treated to a reading of a new play at an early stage of development. Araca's goal with this project is to present plays that have not yet received a fully realized production in New York City and to create a platform for the development of new plays and new voices. AracaWorks will pair each playwright with a director and a group of New York actors. The series will provide an outlet for playwrights to explore their material in a forum open to the public, yet safe from critical reviews.
