Already delayed because of safey issues regarding the many flying stunts in the show, SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK will get anoher visit from safety inspectors on Wednesday, according to the NY Times. Inspectors have so far been able to see only 13 of 27 flying stunts for the new show. All 27 must be approved before public performances can begin.

The New York Times reports today that Brittish film actor Matthew James Thomas will likely share the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man with Reeve Carney for the upcoming Broadway production of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Thomas will take on the role twice a week due to the demanding nature of the part. The Times notes that Carney will play all of the production's preview performances. Thomas would step in twice a week beginning after the show's opening on January 11, 2011.

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will begin preview performances on Broadway on Sunday, November 28, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. Opening Night is now set for Tuesday evening, January 11, 2011. Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will open at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street). Quantas vezes THE MUSIC MAN, BYE BYE BIRDIE e OLIVER sumiam do grande arquivo cheio de gavetões e as multas à uma simpática bibliotecária, chegavam a abalar o orçamento doméstico. Depois veio a 'portinha' de uma loja chamada MODERN SOUND, que era mesmo moderna: vendia,acreditem ou não, musicais da Broadway!!! Nesta época o CD poderia tambem ser o título de uma ópera rock, pois simplesmente não existia em nenhum dicionário (e desconfio, materialmente, no mundo). Tempos mágicos para nós eram aqueles, que seríamos bem capazes de esbofetear uma bisavó se ela ousasse falar mal de MINHA QUERIDA LADY ou de IRMA LA DOUCE.
