The SPIDER-MAN court battle continues, as the legal proceedings between show producers and fired director Julie Taymor have now lasted seven months. According to the New York Times, federal Judge Katherine B. Forrest has 'expressed frustration that an agreement had not been completed in spite of the parties' coming to terms in principle in August.'

The new musical Kinky Boots, from four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (book), Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Director & Choreographer), will begin preview performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) today, March 3, 2013. Opening night is set for Thursday, April 4, 2013.

Kinky Boots, the hotly anticipated new musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), will begin previews Sunday, March 3 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street). Kinky Boots, directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, opens Thursday, April 4, 2013.

Kinky Boots creators Harvey Fierstein (book) and Cyndi Lauper (music & lyrics) will sit down with New York Times theater reporter Patrick Healy as part of a New York Times TimesTalks on Monday, March 18th at 6:30 PM E.T. at TheTimesCenter (242 West 41st Street). The pair will discuss their collaborative experience on the hotly anticipated new musical; the evening will also include a performance by Kinky Boots stars Stark Sands and Billy Porter. First Folio Theatre (Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83) presents the acclaimed play UNDERNEATH THE LINTEL, directed by Jeff Award nominee Alison C. Vesely, previewing March 27, opening March 30 and running through April 28, 2013. The production stars Kristine Thatcher, a member of the 2001 Tony Award-winning Victory Gardens Playwrights Ensemble, where her play Voice of Good Hope premiered and was nominated for the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Work in 2000. Thatcher most recently appeared as Terri in Jeffrey Sweet's new play Immoral Imperatives. Prior to that, she appeared in First Folio Theatre's production of Macbeth. Other credits include "Hannah Jarvis" in Tom Stoppard's Arcadia at the Goodman Theatre, "Candida" in George Bernard Shaw's Candida at Writers' Theatre, and "Regan" in King Lear and "Kate" in Taming of the Shrew at Chicago Shakespeare Theater.

Daniel Berger-Jones and Phil Tayler play more than a dozen characters between them in Marie Jones' 2001 Olivier Award-winner for Best New Comedy. They make it look easy, but their achievement is no small feat as they breathe life into the citizens of a rural Irish village in County Kerry who vie for roles as extras in an American film. The experience changes many of them, not all for the better.

In its fourth production of the season, Ross Valley Players presents the Broadway hit Enchanted April, a romantic comedy written by Matthew Barber, based on the novel by Elizabeth von Arnim. Set in 1920's London, Enchanted April is the story of two frustrated housewives who take a trip to Italy in hopes of rediscovering themselves. The Hartford News called Enchanted April, 'The kind of play that reminds you why you love theatre.' Enchanted April begins with a preview on Thursday, March 14 and runs through Sunday, April 14. Opening night is Friday, March 15 at 8PM.

This morning, the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe marked the beginning of a new era: The 17-year-old contemporary arts organization has officially changed its name to FringeArts. The new name, announced in conjunction with breaking ground on a versatile permanent home on Philadelphia's burgeoning waterfront, reflects the organization's mission to bring the world's newest and most cutting-edge cultural experiences to the City of Brotherly Love.
