American Dance Theater to Present ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER at June Havoc Theatre as Part of MITF, 7/30-8/4

American Dance Theatre Productions will present ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER from Tuesday, July 30 through Sunday, August 4, at the June Havoc Theatre at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, as part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival. A jazzy, contemporary update of the classic film about a murdered gangster brought back to life by the devil, who is anxious to besmirch the reputation of an incorruptible New York judge, ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER has Music by WARREN HILL, Lyrics by O'MARA LEARY & JAMES BEAUMONT & Book by JAMES BEAUMONT. This AEA Approved Showcase Production will be directed by JOE MARUZZO.

Hell in a Handbag Productions will remount of one of its most popular shows ever at The Coach House at Berger Park, 6205 N. Sheridan Rd. (Sheridan and Granville). Originally produced under Sweetback Productions, The Birds is not just a ridiculous parody of the classic Hitchcock film, but a look inside the mind of newcomer Tippi Hedren guided by author and American social critic Camille Paglia with a touch of David Lynch thrown in for good measure. Stage Adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's SLAUGHTERHOUSE-FIVE Set for FringeNYC, 8/10-20

True False Theatre, in association with The Present Company as part of the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival, present SLAUGHTERHOUSE-FIVE a new play by Daria Tavana, based on Kurt Vonnegut classic novel of the same name. SLAUGHTERHOUSE-FIVE will be presented at Fringe Venue #5 The Celebration of Whimsy aka The C.O.W. (formerly The Living Theatre) (21 Clinton Street) in Manhattan. The production will run August 10-20.

Hair - The American Tribal Love Rock Musical became one of my favorite shows when I saw the Tony winning revival in 2009 and then again in 2010. With that, one may have an unconscious hesitation when a local production of your favorite show is being mounted.
