First Annual Philadelphia One-Minute Play Festival Set for 7/29-31

InterAct Theatre Company and the New York based company, The One-Minute Play Festival (OMPF) today announce their joint presentation of the First Philadelphia One-Minute Play Festival, to be performed on July 29th-31st 2013 at 8:00 PM EST. Following sold-out performances in a dozen other cities, this festival serves as the culmination of a yearlong collaboration between the two companies after engaging in community and consensus building workshop sessions with local artists since August of 2012.
Court Rules Online Travel Companies Must Pay Taxes On Hotel Rooms Sold in Chicago

In a major win for taxpayers, Judge Robert Lopez Cepero of the Cook County Circuit Court ruled today that online travel companies such as Expedia, Orbitz and Priceline are required to remit taxes to the City of Chicago on gross receipts from hotel room sales in Chicago, according to Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, which represents the City of Chicago.

This past weekend, Spider-Man helped celebrate fathers by offering a special Father's Day promotion- for those who swung by SPIDER-MAN and purchased one full price Orchestra or Flying Circle ticket, dad got his ticket for free. Following the performance the cast invited three families backstage for a meet and greet with Reeve Carney. Check out highlights from the festivities below!

Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark is doing its part to support New York's critically ill and injured children at St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children, the City's only long-term rehabilitation hospital for children and the region's largest provider of home healthcare to children with medically complex conditions. Throughout the month of June, when guests buy Spider-Man tickets through Givenick, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children.

Last night, Saturday, June 15, some of the most elite stars from world football, including the former AC Milan star Andriy Shevchenko, Manchester City's James Milner, West Bromwich Albion's James Morrison, Patrik Berger and Vladmir Smicer of the Czech Republic, Sunderland's Adam Johnson, Nicklas Bendnter from Juventu, Kevin Phillips from Crystal Palace F.C. and more attended a welcome dinner and launch event at the newly opened Hakkasan Las Vegas at MGM Grand Hotel and Casino to kick-off the 'Ryder Cup Style' golf tournament, in which the players competed for the inaugural Westwood Cup. Today in 2011, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark opened at the Foxwoods Theatre, where it is still running. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is a rock musical with music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge and a book by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The musical is based on the Spider-Man comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, published by Marvel Comics, as well as the 2002 film about the character and the Greek myth of Arachne. lt tells the story of the origin of the character, his romance with Mary Jane and his battles with the evil Green Goblin.

Olney Theatre Center Artistic Director Jason Loewith announced the company would scrap its traditional subscription format while producing an ambitious slate of three seasons and nine productions for the Theatre's 2014 76th Anniversary Season. Three "mini-seasons" will feature Rolling World Premieres, 20th century American classics, four extraordinary musicals and an outdoor Shakespeare production beneath the stars.
