On Saturday night, philanthropic patrons were treated to a wonderful Italian dinner at a fundraiser for Ridgedale Players. The evening began with generous amounts of appetizers and golden punch. The main course featured delicious lasagna, topped off by tiramisu for dessert. Actors from the theatre company performed a murder mystery set in a Detroit speakeasy during the Great Depression.

Composer/pianist Vijay Iyer and master percussionist Cyro Baptista are the latest Guiding Artists to join the Creative Music Studio's 40th Anniversary workshop, October 7 - 11, at the well-appointed Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY. In addition to Vijay and Cyro, the four-day workshop will feature renowned musicians and educators, including Peter Apfelbaum, Tony Malaby, Jason Hwang, Kirk Knuffke, Kenny Wessel, Steve Gorn, Mark Helias and others. They will join CMS Artistic Directors Karl Berger and Ingrid Sertso, exploring CMS's "Music Mind" practice that focuses on the common elements of all music, inspiring awareness, personal expression, intensive listening and cross-cultural communication. The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announces its Inaugural Season beginning with performances by the Martha Graham Dance Company, which open the 500-seat Goldsmith Theater on November 8 and 9, 2013, followed by the play Parfumerie by Miklos Laszlo, adapted by Edward P. Dowdall and directed by Mark Brokaw, from November 26 to December 22, 2013. The romantic tale Parfumerie inspired the films The Shop Around the Corner, In the Good Old Summertime, and Nora Ephron's You've Got Mail, as well as the Broadway musical She Loves Me. As a special program, an exhibition on perfume entitled Timeless Scents: 1370-2013, a history of iconic fragrances through the ages is being created especially for The Wallis by Chandler Burr, former New York Times scent critic.

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, Broadway's high-flying spectacular, is launching a massive coast-to-coast search to find its next Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Los Angeles, at the Hollywood United Methodist Church, on Monday, August 12 beginning at 9:30 a.m. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the show's original and current star (and Los Angeles native), Reeve Carney (who is scheduled to depart the production on Sunday, September 15, 2013) is taking the trip to Los Angeles to be at the casting call to meet and greet hopefuls.
