AMERICAN PSYCHO, the American premiere of a new musical based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis -- which celebrates the 25th anniversary of its publication this March -- has just begun rehearsals for Broadway. As BroadwayWorld reported earlier today, GRAMMY and Tony Award-winning musician Duncan Sheik's American Psycho: Original London Cast Recording will be available on March 25, 2016 via Concord Records. The album's release will coincide with the show's U.S. premiere on Broadway, with previews beginning March 24 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater at 236 West 45th Street in New York City.

With just over a month until AMERICAN PSYCHO's first performance on Broadway, it now appears the Duncan Sheik musical will receive not one, but two, cast recordings.

AMERICAN PSYCHO, the American premiere of a new musical based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis -- which celebrates the 25th anniversary of its publication this March -- has welcomed Theo Stockman (American Idiot, Hair) and Brandon Kalm (American Idiot on tour) to the cast, it was announced today.

Sacha Wares will be returning to Almeida Theatre to direct the world premiere of Leo Butler's new play Boy, after her directorial success with the critically acclaimed production, Game, by Mike Bartlett, in 2015.  Boy will run at the Almeida Theatre from 5 April until 28 May 2016, with press night on 12 April 2016. Director Sacha Wares is joined by a formidable creative team, including two powerhouse contemporary designers, Miriam Buether for set design (Wild Swans, Sucker Punch, My Child, Generations), who worked with Sacha on Game at the Almeida in 2015, and Ultz for costume (Jerusalem, Hobson's Choice, Fallout, Pied Pier), who will be collaborating with Miriam, on design, for the very first time. Further creative credits include movement by Leon Baugh, lighting by Jack Knowles and sound by Gareth Fry.

In drama, there are three types of conflict: man versus man, man versus self, and man versus nature. In Ron Howard's new film, IN THE HEART OF THE SEA, Chris Hemsworth and Broadway favorite Benjamin Walker face all three types of conflicts as they battle a vengeful white whale. Loosely based on the nonfiction book of the same name by Nathaniel Philbrick, the film tells the story of the Whaleship Essex, which served as partial inspiration for the Herman Melville classic, MOBY DICK. Though Melville's novel is filled with Romantic language and rich, nuanced themes of class, obsession, and race, IN THE HEART OF THE SEA is a slick, depthless film that removes nearly all historical accuracy from this harrowing and terrifying tale. However, what the film lacks in emotion and authenticity, it nearly makes up for in visual majesty and grandeur.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that the release of Oscar winner Ron Howard's IN THE HEART OF THE SEA has been moved to December 11, 2015.
