On Friday, August 21, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival will host free activities for the public in participation with the 7th annual Free Fun Friday program, sponsored by the Highland Street Foundation. From 2:30-7pm, free activities will include all-ages, all-levels dance classes, kid-friendly tours of the Pillow, a free outdoor performance by the high-energy swing dance company The Hell's Kitchen Kilowatts, arts and crafts, story readings, and more on the historic Pillow grounds.

New York City Ballet announced today that Principal Dancer Jennie Somogyi will retire during the Company's 2015 Fall Season, after a 21-year career with New York City Ballet. Her final performance will take place on Sunday, October 11 at 3 pm at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. She will perform George Balanchine's Liebeslieder Walzer.

The evening began with cocktails at 5:30pm in Juilliard's Morse Hall, followed by the performance at 7pm in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Lincoln Center, and concluded with a seated dinner at 9pm at the Mandarin Oriental. The evening celebrated the legendary Rudolf Nureyev and commemorated the 20th Anniversary of the Rudolf Nureyev Dance Scholarship.
