The April 13 application deadline for the 4th annual Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project is fast approaching. The no-fee, weeklong songwriting intensive, presented by The Johnny Mercer Foundation and the American Music Theatre Project and led by award-winning artists Craig Carnelia, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Lari White, will be held June 21 - 27 on the campus of Northwestern University just outside of Chicago.

The Battery's Down, the hit online television series, will return for a second season on Wednesday, April 1, on YouTube featuring a slew of Broadway guest stars. Filmed in a style similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Office, The Battery's Down chronicles the life of young actor Jake Wilson in New York City. The event will take place on Monday, March 9 at 7pm. arlier this month, Alan Zachary & Michael Weiner joined in a week-long celebration at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. of the 'Next Generation of Broadway Songwriters' by performing an hour-long concert of their songs, joined by Megan Hilty (star of Broadway's Wicked and 9 to 5). Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts celebrates the 12th Anniversary of the Millennium Stage on January 31, 2009 with 'Broadway Today'-a star-studded, free concert, produced by Michael A. Kerker and presented in cooperation with ASCAP, in the Opera House as a part of the Center's season-long artistic initiative Broadway: The Third Generation. With the composers at the piano, original cast members and Broadway stars perform signature songs that made these artists household names.
