As previously announced, Second Stage Theatre will begin the 2017 Uptown Series with the world premiere of Chisa Hutchinson's SOMEBODY'S DAUGHTER, directed by MAY ADRALES.

Columbus Children's Theatre will present the regional premiere of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach May 4-14 at the Lincoln Theatre located at 769 E. Long Street. This production is directed by Ryan Scarlata and choreographed by Dionysia Williams. Music and Lyrics written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 19 categories for the 32nd Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway.

Just last night, MCC Theater presented their annual Miscast gala, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of MCC Theater. The performers included: Tony winners Norbert Leo Butz, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Jennifer Holliday and Kelli O'Hara; Tony nominees Stephanie J. Block, Carmen Cusack, Brian d'Arcy James and Brandon Victor Dixon; plus Dear Evan Hansen breakout Ben Platt and Hamilton star Mandy Gonzalez. On yesterday's Sunday TODAY, Joe Fryer spoke with the show's stars Ben Platt and Rachel Bay Jones, as well as composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and writer Steven Levenson about the show's optimistic message, "You will be found."

Adapting any children's book for the stage is likely to be a tricky proposition. By their very nature, kids' books are filled with challenging settings and characters, from talking animals to fantastical locations to entire magical worlds that come right out of the most vivid and playful imaginations. It's no different for Roald Dahl's classic James and the Giant Peach. Having said that, it's hard to imagine any production of a stage version being as well-produced and successfully achieved as the one currently playing at the Lyric Theatre's Plaza Theatre.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN scribe Steven Levenson has inked a two-year overall deal with Fox 21 Television Studios and 20th Century Fox Television. Under the agreement, the writer will create new projects for cable, streaming and broadcast channels.
