Julie Taymor and Elliot Goldenthal to Receive Samuel H. Scripps Award 5/10

Tony Award-winner Julie Taymor and Oscar-winner Elliot Goldenthal will be honored with the Samuel H. Scripps Award at Theatre for a New Audience's 30th Anniversary Gala Celebrating Shakespeare's 446th Birthday. The celebration, Monday, May 10, will be held at The Powerhouse at the American Museum of Natural History, Central Park West at 79th Street.

The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President; Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director), announced the nominations for the 2009-10 Drama League Awards today at Sardi's with the help of Broadway stars Kelsey Grammer (La Cage Aux Folles) and Bebe Neuwirth (The Addams Family). The 76th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 12:00pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. The event will be co-hosted by Vanessa Williams (Sondheim on Sondheim) and Michael Urie (The Temperamentals).

2010 Drama League Nominations Announced!

The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President; Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director) proudly announces nominations for the 2009-10 Drama League Awards, to be presented at The 76th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on Friday, May 21, 2010 (noon) in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square (1535 Broadway at 46th Street). The event will be co-hosted by Vanessa Williams (Sondheim on Sondheim) and Michael Urie (The Temperamentals).

MCC Theater's THE PRIDE Closes 3/28

MCC Theater's production of Alexi Kaye Campbell's The Pride, directed by Joe Mantello (Glengarry GLen Ross, Take Me Out), will play its final performance on March 28, 2010.

Royal & Derngate Closes MY ZINC BED and HONEST, 3/13

Following End of the Rainbow, Royal & Derngate's Addicted to You season continues with the stage premiere of a new version of My Zinc Bed created by David Hare especially for the Royal & Derngate, which takes to the Royal stage from Friday 26 February to Saturday 13 and Honest by Northampton playwright DC Moore, which will be performed in the Mailcoach pub, adjacent to the theatre, at 6.30pm, before each evening's performance of My Zinc Bed.

Tickets for MCC Theater's FAMILY WEEK On Sale Today, 3/3

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) has announced that tickets will go on-sale today, March 3, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) for the company's third and final production of their 2009-2010 season: Beth Henley's Family Week, directed by Jonathan Demme. Performances of the four person play begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on April 9 and continue through May 23, 2010. Opening night is set for Monday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m.
